This afternoon, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended a GREAT reception at NeueHouse. The reception was to honour successful Brits who work in the creative industries and live in New York. Catherine with British actor, Patrick Stewart. The Duchess wore another black ensemble, her third during this 3-day tour. She wore the Seraphine 'Vanessa' maternity dress (US$99). The A-line dress is rendered in a luxurious Ponte Roma fabric with a mockneck and full length sleeves. It featuring a curved empire line that defines the waist. Kate jazzed up the simple silhouette of this black turtleneck frock with her dazzling £49,000 Cartier Trinity necklace, previously worn in 2012. She wore the same accessories as this morning's visit to the September 11 Memorial. SHOP KATE'S STYLE ... This morning, the Duchess of Cambridge visited the Northside Center for Child Development in Harlem on the first official engagement of her three-day trip to New York. The Center provides education and mental health services to 3,300 New York City children and families each year. Upon arrival, Her Royal Highness was greeted by the First Lady of New York, Chirlane McCray. Once inside, Kate attended a briefing with the directors of the center, wrapped Christmas presents with volunteers, and attended an art class with the children. Kate wore a new coat from British designer Goat Fashion. The mod style 'Washington' coat (£680) is made from heavy-weight black wool crepe. It has a classic swing coat shape and contrast nude tabs on the cuffs and back and decorative contrast enamel buttons. The Duchess accessorized with her Mulberry 'Bayswater' black suede clutch and wore her trusty Episode 'Angel' black suede pumps. She kept her jewellery subtle, wearing her Annoushka Pearl Drops and Kiki Diamond Hoop earrings and Cartier Ballon Bleu de Cartier Stainless Steel Bracelet Watch. The Duchess finished the look with her Cornelia James merino jersey wool gloves with the side bow. Tonight, Kate will join her husband, Prince William at a NBA basketball match in Brooklyn, where they will watch local team the Brooklyn Nets take on the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Last week, PopSugar published exclusive photos of the Duchess of Cambridge and Prince George strolling through Kensington Gardens with a protection officer. Kate was dressed casually, wearing a sleeveless mint green top and skinny jeans. The top dates back to 2006 and her jeans appear to be the same ones she wore to the Father's Day polo match in June this year. I believe they are the GAP 'vintage loren' jeans which I found at Gap EU. On her feet were the Mint Velvet 'Bibi' plimsolls. Kate's jewellery consisted of the Kiki McDonough Citrine Drop earrings, Asprey necklace featuring 'Woodland' charms and Cartier Ballon Bleu wristwatch. She also wore her trusty Givenchy 'Obsedia' sunglasses. SHOP KATE'S STYLE ... Today, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge along with Prince Harry attended various sporting events on Day 5 of the Glasgow Commonwealth Games. Kate wore an all navy ensemble, a look she has favored for many sporting events since the London summer Olympics in 2012. Kate paired her Zara navy double breasted blazer paired with dark wash Zara skinny jeans. The jacket was first seen on the recent royal tour while in Auckland, New Zealand. On her feet were her trusty Stuart Weitzman 'Corkswoon' wedges in navy blue suede. There is some active debate that the clutch is not her Russell & Bromley 'Muse' clutch. The front flap appears to be slightly different to the 'Muse' and the silhouette is not as long. I think the style is more like the Emmy 'Natasha' clutch. Kate owns the 'Natasha' clutch in a carbon and chocolate hue. Emmy offers fabric customization so it's possible Kate has now added another to her collection in a bespoke navy suede, but I believe it is the carbon suede clutch that she carried today. We saw a new addition to the familiar ensemble. Kate changed up the outfit with a sleeveless striped shirt (yet to be identified). The collarless shirt appears to have dome-shaped navy buttons and a pleated front. Today, Kate wore gold toned jewellery which consisted of her Kiki McDonough Citrine Drop earrings and Asprey London necklace featuring 'Woodland' charms. Another familiar piece was her 33mm Cartier Ballon Bleu wristwatch. There was a lot of criticism on social media about Kate's uniform-like recycling of this outfit. While I long to see new additions to her closet, I respect her choice and admire that she has the confidence to pull off the same look time and time again. SHOP KATE'S CASUAL SPORTY STYLE ... It was a clash of the tennis giants today at the Wimbledon Championships, with Rodger Federer taking on Novak Djokovic in the men's finals. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge returned to the Royal Box at the All England Club to watch the epic match, having attended the men's quarter finals a few days earlier. The Duchess wore the Jonathan Saunders 'Evelyn' dress previously worn in the Solomon Islands on the Jubilee Tour of 2012. The 'Evelyn' is a retro-inspired cotton-blend dress, tailored to uptown perfection. It is rendered in an aqua, white and forest-green textured geometric-print. It has a modified boat neck that extends to a V in the back. The sheath dress is finished with a self tie belt. Kate accessorised the dress with her LK Bennett 'Avona' clutch and Jimmy Choo 'Gilbert' nude kid leather pumps. She was also carrying a cream pashmina, yet to be identified. The Duchess wore her Kiki McDonough green amethyst and diamond oval earrings and Givenchy 'Obsedia' sunglasses. She also wore her Cartier wristwatch. SHOP KATE'S LOOK FOR LESS ... It's no secret that the Duchess of Cambridge is an avid fan of tennis. Today, William and Kate took their seats in the Royal Box at Wimbledon to watch the quarter finals clash on Centre Court between Andy Murray and Grigor Dimitrov. Kate has an affinity for wearing white to the Wimbledon Championships, obviously a homage to the Wimbledon players' dress code. She continued that trend today, wearing her white eyelet Zimmermann Roamer Day dress, first seen on Good Friday during the Royal Tour of Australia. In the past, Kate has worn white frocks by Issa, Temperley London, Joseph and Alexander McQueen. Last year Kate didn't attend any matches at Wimbledon because she was over 8 months pregnant with Prince George. Today, Kate added a dash of colour to her ensemble with a red pashmina and her Anya Hindmarch Basket Fan Clutch. The red shawl dates back to at least February 2007. Kate was photographed carrying it as she left the exclusive Mamilanji club. Today Kate wore her Ray-Ban folding sunglasses, also first seen during this year's Royal Tour. Other familiar accessories included her Annoushka pearl /Kiki hoop earrings and Cartier watch. Duchess Kate blog has a full-length photo of Kate which shows her wearing the LK Bennett 'Sledge' pumps. There was some Twitter activity this morning about a sighting of William, Kate and baby George at the Natural History Museum's Butterfly Exhibit. The Duchess is seen wearing her Suzannah Green Budding Heart Silk Tea Dress. We first got a glimpse of this dress under her Erdem coat on a visit to the Waikato region of New Zealand during the 2014 royal tour.
The Duchess of Cambridge visited Blessed Sacrament School in Islington today to see first-hand the progress of the M-PACT project. The initiative aims to provide early support for schoolchildren affected by parental drug or alcohol addiction. The project is funded by The Royal Foundation and Comic Relief, and delivered by charities Place2Be and Action on Addiction, of which the Duchess is a patron. It was launched in April 2013, when Kate and comedian John Bishop visited Willows Primary School in Wythenshawe, Manchester. For last year's visit, the Duchess was seven months pregnant with Prince George and she showed off her baby bump in the printed Erdem 'Sophia' shift dress. For today's event, Kate opted for a solid sheath dress by Goat. The style is named 'Scarlett' and it is rendered in a coral hue. Goat classifies the colour as 'geranium'. The wool crepe dress is characterised by a pleated bust and defined with a matching belt. It retails for £450. It was available from matchesfashion.com and my-wardrobe.com but quickly sold after being seen on the Duchess. The 'Scarlett' style is still available in other colour options. When William and Kate visited Scotland in May this year, Kate wore a Goat geranium sheath dress underneath her Jonathan Saunders coat. It seems very likely that is was the Goat 'Scarlett' pleated front dress. For today's event, the Duchess kept her accessories neutral, carrying her LK Bennett 'Natalie' straw clutch and wearing her Jimmy Choo 'Gilbert' kid leather pumps. We also saw familiar pieces of jewellery. Kate wore her Links of London 'Effervescence Bubble Stiletto' earrings and Cartier Ballon Bleu watch. Kate styled her long hair in a pretty half up-do. The young royal family were at Cirencester Park Polo Club where Prince William and Prince Harry competed in opposing teams in the annual Jerudong Trophy Polo Match. The charity match raises money for William's patronage Centrepoint. Kate wore a casual outfit, consisting of some familiar pieces. She wore her ME+EM Breton stipe top currently in stock for £48. On her feet were the Sebago 'Bala' deck shoes in taupe/white, in stock for US$95. She wore her Givenchy 'Obsedia' sunglasses (in stock). She kept her jewellery to a minimum, only wearing her wedding rings and Ballon Bleu de Cartier Stainless Steel Bracelet Watch (in stock). The brand and style of her skinny jeans are still unknown. A follower on What Kate Wore suggested that they may be GAP jeans based on the label stitching on the back on the jeans. I have checked my GAP jeans and they do indeed feature this stitching. The shade that Kate is wearing does not appear in the current GAP collection of jean leggings. I did a search for previous season shades and came across this style in 'vintage loren' from Gap EU. They are premium stretch denim with a vintage wash. They feature tradition five-pocket styling, button closure and zip fly. I'm waiting on confirmation from other 'Kate' bloggers before I can say for certain that these are the jeans. SHOP KATE'S POLO MATCH STYLE FOR LESS ... Royal Tour Day 19: William & Kate attend ANZAC Day Commemorations on their final day Down Under25/4/2014 On the final day of their royal tour, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were up before sunrise to attend the ANZAC day dawn service at Canberra's War Memorial. This was an unscheduled and surprise appearance by the royal couple. ANZAC day is a significant national occasion which marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War. Prince William wore his two medals given for service to his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth - the golden jubilee medal and diamond jubilee medal. The Duchess wrapped up warmly with a cream-coloured scarf, black gloves and her Temperly 'Noa' coat. The black coatdress features a jacquard diamond check panel design with a fit-and-flare silhouette. The Duchess first wore this piece to last year's Remembrance Sunday service. Kate also wore black tights with black heels which appear to be her Episode 'Angel' suede pumps. On her coat lapel was pinned a sprig of rosemary traditionally worn by Aussies and Kiwis on this day. The plant grows abundantly on the Gallipoli Peninsula in Turkey, where over 11,000 Australians and New Zealanders died in battle. Later that morning the Duke & Duchess attended the commemorative Anzac Day March which included representatives of First World War veterans. The Duchess changed into a blue tweed coat and donned a navy headpiece. Out of respect for the day of remembrance, the Palace did not release details about Kate's outfit. After the service, various media outlets did publicize the details. Firstly, News Corp Australia revealed that Kate's headwear was by Sydney based milliner, Jonathan Howard. Kate wore the 'Boutton' headpiece in an appropriately named ‘Duchess Blue’ hue. The piece is from the milliner's racing collection and features a felt button with flying bow trim. It retails for AU$540 and comes in a variety of colours. Following this, Hello Magazine revealed that Kate's coat was by Michael Kors. The indigo twill jacquard swing coat is from the Spring 2014 collection. This is the first time the Duchess has worn a piece by Michael Kors, and it makes it the fourth American designer for the royal tour. Previously, we saw Kate wear dresses from Tory Burch, DVF, and Lela Rose. Kate completed the outfit with her Alexander McQueen navy suede pumps, and Russell & Bromley navy 'Muse' clutch (aka Stuart Weitzman 'Raz' clutch in the USA). Her jewellery pieces included the sapphire earrings, Asprey London 'Woodlands' charm necklace, and Cartier Ballon Bleu Watch. Kate also wore a red poppy-shaped brooch given to her by the wife of Victoria Cross recipient Corporal Ben Roberts-Smith. The brooch is the Russian Imperial Crimson Anemone Pin from the Metropolitan Museum of Art store. It originally retailed for US$85 but is no longer available. It is a reproduction of a Peter Carl Fabergé’ design, and there are a few jewellery variations in the collection including, earrings, necklace and cuff. Immediately after the commemorations, the Royal couple returned to their home base at Government House to pickup Prince George and then made their way to the Fairbairn RAAF Base for their official farewell before flying back to London. You can read full details of today's events on the official page of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Well that wraps up three amazing weeks with so many memorable moments! This tour was extra special to me because it was in my home country of Australia, and also the first I have covered since I started the website. I will leave you with my favourite image from the tour which I think captures the essence of this beautiful family.
