The Express has exclusive photos of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attending a friend's wedding this past weekend. The ceremony was held at Chelsea Old Church - situated on the same road where Kate previously lived at the former Middleton family home in west London. The dress code for the wedding was obviously black tie with Prince William dressed in a tuxedo and Kate in her Diane von Furstenberg 'Zarita' black lace gown. The Duchess premiered the floor-length dress at the Royal Variety Performance last month. The Duchess who is five-months pregnant with their second child wrapped up with her Really Wild claret red cashmere mix wrap scarf. The Duchess accessorised her long-sleeved lace dress with the recently identified Magid black beaded vintage clutch. On her feet were black suede pumps. She debuted these last year at the Mandela film premiere and they were originally thought to be this pair by Prada. However, Prada denied it was this style and hence they remain unidentified. In other news, Clarence House has announced that we will see Kate tomorrow when she attends a Beaver Scout meeting in Bow, London. Kate will meet volunteers, leaders and help with activities before awarding badges to the Beavers. This evening, the Duke & Duchess of Cambridge were the guests of honour at the Royal Variety Performance at the Palladium Theatre in London. This is the first time William and Kate have attended the show which is traditionally reserved for senior members of the Royal family. Their presence tonight reflects their growing role within the monarchy. Kate looked stunning in a black lace dress, wearing the DVF 'Zarita' gown. The Zarita is a full length lace gown with a fitted bodice and waist, which opens into a sweeping fluted hem. It has 3/4 sheer lace sleeves, scalloped lace detail at the neckline and v-shaped back. It retails from £780 and is available from DVF UK, Net-a-Porter and Boutique 1. The 'Zarita' style is also available in a cocktail length and comes in a range of colours. On her feet were her Jimmy Choo Cosmic Platform Pumps (US$695). She carried her sparkly black bead clutch bag first seen last month at the Action on Addiction gala. It remains unidentified. Kate added a hint of colour to her otherwise all-black attire wearing her Kiki McDonough Lola blue topaz hoop earrings. The next announced engagement for the Duchess will be on 19th November, where she will attend Place2Be Wellbeing in Schools Awards hosted at the Kensington Palace State Apartments.
The Duchess went under the radar this week to make a private visit to The Treehouse in Suffolk – which is run by one of her patronages, East Anglia Children's Hospices. The visit coincided with Children's Hospice Week which is focused on raising money and awareness for those supporting children with life-limiting illnesses. For this personal visit, Kate wore a paisley printed wrap dress by Diana von Furstenberg. This dress has been in Kate's closet since 2002 where she was snapped wearing to a party in St Andrew's. Since then she has worn it on a couple of occasions, once in 2005 when out to dinner with William and more recently when on tour in Malaysia. The DVF 'Duenne' wrap dress showcases a pink paisley pattern on a charcoal grey silk jersey background. It is characterised by pink piping along the torso, collar, cuffs and pocket. The dress is made from 100% silk and has a classic surplice v-neck and finished with a self-belt. The Duchess released a statement , in which she says: "Around the clock support is crucial for children receiving palliative care. They and their families often need help every hour of every day, both in hospices and at home. As Patron of EACH, I have seen first-hand this remarkable and varied work and just how vital the support of staff and volunteers can be to the families of children with life limiting conditions. It has been wonderful to see the fantastic public support for Children's Hospice Week over the last few days. Please continue supporting your local children's hospice in whatever way you can." It's wonderful to see Kate continuing to give back behind the scenes, without the glare of the media. Because of the sensitivity of the visit, EACH are not disclosing any further details about her private visit. A royal source says, she wanted to learn more about the services that are required for families with seriously ill children. She was also shown the role that volunteers can play for children's hospices – an issue "she is exploring further" through the Royal Foundation set up in her name and that of Princes William and Harry.
This morning, the Duke and Duchess headed west out of Sydney to the Blue Mountains, one of Australia's most majestic areas of natural beauty. They meet with emergency services personnel, as well as locals impacted by the recent bushfires in the region that destroyed 195 homes. Kate wore a flowy cotton wrap dress by Diane von Furstenberg. The DVF 'Patrice' dress is a faux wrap style made from cotton voile. It is rendered with a blue and black ikat print on a white background. It has cuffed 3/4 sleeves and a subtle flare skirt. At time of posting, it has sold out but retailed for US$325. Kate brought back the navy suede Stuart Weitzman 'Corkswoon' wedges which coordinated perfectly with the blue printed frock. She also carried her navy suede Russell & Bromely 'Muse' clutch, also known as the Stuart Weitzman 'Raz' clutch in the USA. Again, we saw the sapphire & diamond drop earrings, Mappin & Webb 'Fortune' necklace and the Cartier Ballon Bleu watch. SHOP KATE'S 'BLUE MOUNTAINS' LOOK FOR LESS ... The meet and greet was followed by lunch in the Winmalee Girl Guides Hall where they later planted a flowering gum tree out the front of the Hall. The Royal couple then headed to the Echo Point lookout in Katoomba to view the impressive Three Sisters rock formation. The Duke and Duchess concluded their day trip at Narrow Neck Lookout where they observed an abseiling demonstration by the Mountain Youth Services. Prince William boldly stood just inches from the 100-metre cliff face. He made many onlookers nervous as he peered over the edge. You can read further details of today's events on the official website of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Tomorrow morning, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will remain in Sydney where they will visit the Royal Easter Show. If the afternoon, they head to Manly for two events. The first, a visit to the Bear Cottage Children's Hospice, followed by a surf life-saving display at Manly Beach.
