The Express has exclusive photos of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attending a friend's wedding this past weekend. The ceremony was held at Chelsea Old Church - situated on the same road where Kate previously lived at the former Middleton family home in west London. The dress code for the wedding was obviously black tie with Prince William dressed in a tuxedo and Kate in her Diane von Furstenberg 'Zarita' black lace gown. The Duchess premiered the floor-length dress at the Royal Variety Performance last month. The Duchess who is five-months pregnant with their second child wrapped up with her Really Wild claret red cashmere mix wrap scarf. The Duchess accessorised her long-sleeved lace dress with the recently identified Magid black beaded vintage clutch. On her feet were black suede pumps. She debuted these last year at the Mandela film premiere and they were originally thought to be this pair by Prada. However, Prada denied it was this style and hence they remain unidentified. In other news, Clarence House has announced that we will see Kate tomorrow when she attends a Beaver Scout meeting in Bow, London. Kate will meet volunteers, leaders and help with activities before awarding badges to the Beavers. Within an hour of arriving in New York, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge headed out to attend a private Royal Foundation reception dinner at the plush Manhattan apartment of English businessman Martin Sorrell. Kate stepped out from The Carlyle Hotel, where they are staying during their 3 day trip, wearing a new black fit and flare lace cocktail dress from Beulah London. The style is called 'Amara' and is from the Spring Summer 2015 collection. The dress has an embroidered organza which overlays a silk crepe de chine lining. It is currently available for pre-order and will set you back £650. Kate also donned a new pair of statement earrings. As yet, no details have emerged regarding the designer. 16/12/2014 UPDATE: The amazing Facebook community of My Small Obsessions have identified Kate's stunning earrings as the Kenneth Jay Lane Silvertone Crystal Earrings (€262). It was refreshing to see the Duchess wear jewellery from an American costume jewelry designer, and a fitting choice for her first night in New York. She accessorized with familiar pieces, carrying her Mulberry 'Bayswater' black suede clutch (£495) and wearing her Stuart Weistzman 'Power' pumps (US$335), also rendered in black suede. Tomorrow the Duke and Duchess will have separate agendas. Prince William will travel to Washington to meet US president Barack Obama, while Kate will visit a Harlem-based organisation for child development. They will reunited in the evening and attend a NBA basketball match in Brooklyn, where they will watch local team the Brooklyn Nets take on the Cleveland Cavaliers. SHOP KATE'S STYLE ... This evening, the Duke & Duchess of Cambridge were the guests of honour at the Royal Variety Performance at the Palladium Theatre in London. This is the first time William and Kate have attended the show which is traditionally reserved for senior members of the Royal family. Their presence tonight reflects their growing role within the monarchy. Kate looked stunning in a black lace dress, wearing the DVF 'Zarita' gown. The Zarita is a full length lace gown with a fitted bodice and waist, which opens into a sweeping fluted hem. It has 3/4 sheer lace sleeves, scalloped lace detail at the neckline and v-shaped back. It retails from £780 and is available from DVF UK, Net-a-Porter and Boutique 1. The 'Zarita' style is also available in a cocktail length and comes in a range of colours. On her feet were her Jimmy Choo Cosmic Platform Pumps (US$695). She carried her sparkly black bead clutch bag first seen last month at the Action on Addiction gala. It remains unidentified. Kate added a hint of colour to her otherwise all-black attire wearing her Kiki McDonough Lola blue topaz hoop earrings. The next announced engagement for the Duchess will be on 19th November, where she will attend Place2Be Wellbeing in Schools Awards hosted at the Kensington Palace State Apartments.
Following a breakfast reception at the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich, the Duchess of Cambridge dashed back to London to attend a garden party at Buckingham Palace. Also in attendance was Her Majesty the Queen and Prince Philip, who was celebrating his 93rd birthday. Catherine changed out of her Jaeger contrast crepe dress and into the much-adored Alexander McQueen champagne lace dress, first worn two years earlier to the Queen's Jubilee National Service of Thanksgiving at St Paul's Cathedral. For today's event, Kate opted to remove the tonal sash belt and complete her look with new accessories. The Duchess wore a new hat from Jane Corbett Millinery which is a bespoke piece designed to coordinate with her frock. Kate accessorized with a new pair of nude patent heels which are currently unidentified. One possibility is the LK Bennett 'Florete' pumps. She carried her Russell and Bromley nude patent 'Park Avenue' clutch. She kept her jewellery to a minimum, wearing only her Annoushka baroque pearl drops with Kiki hoop earrings (in addition to her wedding rings, of course!). SHOP KATE'S GARDEN PARTY STYLE FOR LESS ... 12/06/2014 - ID UPDATE Ashley Marie contacted LK Bennett regarding their 'Florete' pumps, but they wrote that this was not the style the Duchess wore to the Garden party. I then contacted Russell & Bromley to ask if their '5th Ave' court shoes could be an ID. They responded with a denial but did claim that the '5th Ave' style used to be available in beige patent (the same colour/fabric as her R&B 'Park Ave' clutch). Ashley Marie persisted with this and managed to get a hold of someone more knowledgeable at R&B. They confirmed that the '5th Ave' style is indeed the one the Duchess wore. Despite my efforts and the misinformation I was given by Russell & Bromley, I'm delighted that Ashely Marie got to the truth!
The '5th Ave' court shoe in beige patent was from their 2013 collection and is no longer available. It is currently available in a variety of shades and fabrics. These point toe courts feature a slim 8cm heel height. Last night, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended a black-tie gala preview screening of Sir David Attenborough's film, Natural History Museum Alive 3D, which "brings to life" it's prehistoric inhabitants. Catherine, who is patron of the museum in London, wore the glamorous black lace Temperley evening gown for the third time, looking as beautiful as she did on the other two pre-baby events. If you're in need of a show-stealing dress for a formal occasion, why not take some inspiration from the Duchess of Cambridge? As she has demonstrated, a black lace dress such as this is a timeless item which can be worn again and again! Sadly Kate's dress has sold out but it also came with a hefty price tag of US$2500. Thankfully there are many similar dresses available at more accessible prices. Now, back to tonight's outfit. Kate accessorized the dress with her Jimmy Choo Cosmic pumps in black suede which are available at Net-a-Porter for US$695 Kate wore her favourite diamond bracelet and earrings set which were a gift from Prince Charles. For the third outing in a row, the Duchess has worn her new Mappin & Webb 'Fortune' necklace. She wore it earlier today to South Africa House and last week on her solo visit to the Shooting Stars Children's Hospice. You can read full details of tonight's event here.
