The Daily Star has exclusive photos showing the Duke & Duchess of Cambridge enjoying a casual night out at The Kings Head Hotel located near their new home, Anmer Hall. The royal couple dressed casually for their low-key date night. Kate wore a black crewneck sweater layered over a black & white floral shirt and paired with skinny jeans. Unfortunately, the low resolution photos make it difficult to accurately ID her clothing. The only item I can make out with certainty is her Pied a Terre black 'Imperia' wedges. They are still available in limited sizes from Dune London. Kate appears to be wearing her Asprey necklace featuring 'Woodlands' charms. A Kate's Closet Facebook follower suggested that the shirt Kate is wearing might be this one from GAP. The close-up of the collar does appear to be a very good match to Kate's shirt. The GAP printed shirt is described as a boyfriend fit featuring long sleeves with single button cuffs, patch pocket on chest, curved shirttail, and rear shoulder yoke. It currently retails for US$54.95 and is also available for £34.95 on GAP UK and €39.95 on GAP EU. 10/10/2014 UPDATE Kate's black cable knit sweater has been identified by eBayer seller "copykate". It is by Lauren Ralph Lauren. I did a little research and found the original stock photo of the jumper. The style is called 'Verionika' and features an all-over cable knit with a crewneck and non-functional goldtone buttons on the left shoulder. It is available in a host of colours from House of Fraser, however it has sold out in black. Ralph Lauren has a black cable knit sweater available in the same silhouette without the buttons. It is currently on sale for US$44.95. Shop it here. SHOP KATE'S STYLE ... The Mirror has also published some candid photos of William & Kate arriving from Norfolk into Kings Cross Station in London. Kate appears to be wearing her Barbour Defence jacket although the photos are too grainy to say for certain. On her feet are the Mint Velvet Bibi plimsolls. Kate is carrying two bags, one is an overnight bag, the other, her Tod's G-Bag Sacca hobo which she has owned for several years. The My Small Obsessions Facebook community identified Kate's overnight travel bag as the 'Odyssey' by Sandstorm Kenya. According to the brand, "it was a gift given soon after their engagement in Kenya". This classically styled travel bag is rendered in a tan canvas with leather trim. It has reinforced carrying handles and a leather base with brass base studs. The Odyssey opens up wide for easy packing and is fully lined with a zipped pocket. STEAL KATE'S STYLE ... The next official engagement for the royal couple is on Monday 8th September, where they will formally open The Dickson Poon University of Oxford China Centre Building.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge resumed their royal tour today after taking a day off yesterday which they spent at their new home base at Government House in Canberra. This morning the royal couple left Canberra and headed to the Red Centre of Australia to visit the country's most famous natural landmark, Uluru (formerly known as Ayres Rock). The Duchess stepped off the plane wearing a Roksanda Ilincic dress which initially appeared to be a darker shade of her Roksanda Ilincic 'Peridot' Crepe Dress first worn in 2011 and again in 2012. However, it was posted on WhatKateWore that Roksanda Ilincic released a similar design to the 'Peridot' called the 'Lovina', shown here in aqua. The 'Lovina' is a simpler design and does not have the extra features of the 'Peridot' dress, which include a mesh trim, peplum back, and exposed full-back zipper. It appears that Kate interchanged the original self tie belt of the 'Lovina' dress with a different style. She accented her dress with a sand toned suede belt, which matched her customised Alexander McQueen suede clutch perfectly. I wouldn't be surprised if this is a bespoke belt from McQueen. On her feet were her trusty taupe patent LK Bennett Sledges. We saw the return of the Catherine Zoraida 'Double Leaf' gold earrings which the Duchess has worn on a few occasions since she originally wore them on the Jubilee Tour of Southeast Asia in 2012. Kate again wore her Asprey London gold 'Woodland' necklace, consisting of an acorn, mushroom and leaf charms. Upon arriving, the Duke and Duchess visited the National Indigenous Training Academy which trains members of the indigenous communities near Uluru in tourism and hospitality. This was followed by a “Welcome to Country” ceremony, performed by members of the local indigenous communities at the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre. Kate made a wardrobe change for the ceremony. She wore her Hobbs 'Wessex' dress cinched with the Hobbs 'Neston' ivory woven belt. On her feet were the natural Pied a Terre Imperia wedges. This is the exact same ensemble she wore on her visit to Bacon's College London in July 2012. This season, the natural 'Imperia' wedges were reissued under the Dune label. They are available for £85. The Duke and Duchess concluded the afternoon with a guided tour along the base of Uluru. The Duke and Duchess will spend the evening "glamping" at the Longitude 131 resort nestled on a secluded sand dune overlooking the iconic monolith. You can read full details of today's events on the official website of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
In June 2013, The Duchess of Cambridge was spotted furniture shopping in Chelsea, wearing a comfy ASOS maternity dress, Hobbs magenta cardigan and her trusty Pied A Terre 'Imperia' wedges.
I've repliKated a non-maternity version of this outfit for under US$59, and all from Target. |
I have retired the "Bits and Bobs" section of the website and started a new segment title "Outfit Chronicle".
