The Duke & Duchess of Cambridge had a busy evening on their second night in New York. They first attended a reception for their charity, United for Wildlife, before heading to a NBA game at the Barclay Center to launch the partnership between the Royal Foundation, United for Wildlife, and the NBA.
The conservation reception was held at British Consul General’s residence on behalf of the Tusk Trust and United for Wildlife, where Prince William, Hillary Clinton, and Chelsea Clinton all spoke about fighting the illegal wildlife trade.
This evening, Kate wore a new tweed coat from American fashion brand Tory Burch. The 'Bettina' tweed coat ($595) is a cotton-blend jacket woven with bouclé, slubbed and metallic yarns. It has slit pockets and a hidden snap button placket. It is finished with a belted collar.
Her accessories included the Mulberry 'Bayswater' clutch (£495) in bespoke black suede leather and Stuart Weitzman 'Power' black suede pumps (US$335).
Kate paired the coat with black skinny jeans, most likely Topshop Maternity Moto Leigh jeans (£38). Kate has been spotted wearing the Topshop maternity Moto Leigh Jeans following her pregnancy with Prince George.
The style she wore tonight does not have the rolled cuff, but the new season Moto Leigh jeans shows them with an unrolled leg opening.
The Duchess added some bling to her ensemble with a pair of statement earrings, wearing the Patric Mavros Crocodile Stud Earrings Large (£160). Kate has worn earrings from this jeweler before who is an avid supporter of wildlife conservation, and hence a good fit for tonight's theme.
At the NBA game, the Duchess unbuttoned her coat to reveal a black high-neck sweater.
I'll leave you with some photos of Kate and William at tonight's NBA game between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Brooklyn Nets.
09/12/2014 - UPDATE
Following today's meeting between Kate and J.Crew creative director Jenna Lyons at the GREAT reception, it was reported that Kate wore J. Crew denim to last night's Conservation reception and NBA game. Royal correspondent Rebecca English received confirmation from Ms. Lyons, quoting: “I was told she wore J. Crew jeans last night to the game. I was so excited. You couldn’t tell, but that’s okay. At least I know that fact.”
It’s possible Kate was wearing the maternity 'Toothpick' jeans, or the maternity 'Minnie' pants.
Just Jared have photos of the Duchess of Cambridge leaving a Place2Be conference held at the Royal Society of Medicine on Monday afternoon in London. Catherine is the Royal Patron of Place2Be, an organisation which aims to improve the mental health and emotional wellbeing of children in the UK.
Kate wore a vibrant print dress by Tory Burch. This is the second occasion we have seen the Duchess wear a dress by the American designer. The first was in April this year when the Duchess wore the Tory Burch 'Paulina' dress to Prince George's first official engagement; a playdate with the Plunket Society in New Zealand.
Today, Kate wore the Tory Burch 'Chrissy' dress rendered in a ocean mist madura print. The jersey dress is has a modified boatneck with a button placket and waist-defining belt. It is made from 100% rayon and has a retail price of US$395.
Below is a detailed look at the vibrant print.
Tory Burch has a large collection of other styles in the same madura print, including a shirt dress, tunics, tops, swimwear, and accessories.
The royal motorcade was spotted leaving Wellington on Monday after the traditional welcome ceremony at Government House. It is believed the Cambridge's retreated to the Wharekauhau Country Estate Lodge to relax and rejuvenate after their long-haul flight from London. The sprawling luxury estate resort has a grand lodge and 15 guest cottages on the private grounds with plenty of privacy for the royal family to enjoy. Day 2 of the tour was a rest day for the royals and their entourage. No doubt they made the most of this day to regroup and gear up for the next three weeks. On Day 3, the Royal trio returned to Government House in Wellington to meet with the Royal New Zealand Plunket Society, an organization that provides health care to children and new families. Their Royal Highnesses arrived ahead of schedule, and Kate was spotted wearing the same grey MaxMara wrap dress she wore when landing in Sydney earlier this week. After a quick wardrobe change, Kate emerged wearing a black and white patterned knit dress named 'Paulina' by American designer Tory Burch. The Tory Burch 'Paulina' dress is from her Resort 2014 collection. The dress has an alternating white open-knit and solid black knit pattern. The fit-and-flare silhouette is defined by a cinched-in waist and a pleated skirt. The short sleeve cuffs and hem are finished with tactile fringing. At time of posting, the dress is still in stock in limited sizes, retailing for about US$450. Today's event marked Prince George's first official royal engagement, which included meeting with a preselected group of families for some baby playtime. The heir to the British crown was just a regular little bub this afternoon as he played with ten other 8-month-old babies in the grand Blundell room of Government house. This is the only event that George is scheduled to attend during his time in New Zealand and Australia. Kate wore a new pair of black suede court shoes. The shoes were identified as the Jimmy Choo 'Aimee'. The Italian made pumps have a black suede upper and feature an almond toe with a platform. Kate's kept her jewellery to a minimum today, wearing her Mappin & Webb Fortune necklace, Annoushka pearl drops with Kiki hoop earrings and Cartier Ballon Bleu watch. You can read further details of today's events on the official website of the Duke and Duchess of
Cambridge. Prince George will retire from the spotlight for the remainder of the New Zealand leg of the tour, while his parents continue with their jam packed itinerary. Tomorrow, the Duke and Duchess will travel to Blenheim to attend a wreath laying ceremony, followed by a visit to the Omaka Aviation Heritage Center where film director Sir Peter Jackson will give the royals a personal tour of his private plane collection. Later that evening (local time), they will head back to Wellington to attend a State Reception at Government House hosted by the Governor General. |
