The Duke & Duchess of Cambridge joined Queen Elizabeth and other members of the royal family for the opening day of Royal Ascot.
Ascot Racecourse is steeped in heritage and history and was founded by Queen Anne in 1711. Over the past 300 years, Ascot has established itself as a national institution; with Royal Ascot becoming the centrepiece of the British social calendar and the ultimate stage for the best racehorses in the world.
The annual meeting spans over five days and each day begins with a Royal Procession - the arrival of The Queen and the Royal party in horse-drawn landaus.
The iconic race meeting is a social event and long been a spectacle of fashion and style.
Kate again channeled a "My Fair Lady" vibe in a white lace dress, reminiscent of the Dolce & Gabbana piece she wore last year:
Today's frock comes courtesy of Alexander McQueen - a custom piece based on this Resort 2017 garment by the designer (US$3,685). Kate had the skirt lengthened to below the knee.
Crafted from ivory Italian floral lace with a feminine fit-and-flare silhouette, this Alexander McQueen dress is fashioned with ¾ length sleeves, subtle peplum detailing and eyelash-fringe scalloping. A grosgrain ribbon waistband nips in the waist. It is currently available at Nordstrom, Farfetch and Harrods.
On her feet she wore her trusty Gianvito Rossi Gianvito 105 Praline Suede Pumps.
The Duchess carried a new clutch bag. The lovely community at What Kate Wore identified it as the Loeffler Randall 'Tab' lizard-effect leather clutch in blush (US$275).
The clutch has sold out in blush but the 'Tab' model is available in a range of colours and fabrics. Loeffler Randall also offers a Junior Lock Clutch rendered in the blush lizard-effect leather.
Today we saw the return of the Bahrain Pearl Drop Earrings on loan from the Queen's royal collection.
Kate topped off the look with a bespoke ivory sinamay hat featuring floral pearl accents. The milliner is currently unknown.
Here is a close up of her glamorous up-do held together with a hairnet.
