The Duchess of Cambridge hit the red carpet in London this evening for the World premiere of A Street Cat Named Bob. The movie tells the real-life story of a homeless busker James Bowen whose life was turned around by a stray ginger cat.
Before the premiere, the Duchess made a visit to the Working Title Films production company for a special screening of The Recovery Street Film Festival which features films made by former addicts and their loved ones about life in recovery from addiction.
Kate attended both events in her capacity as patron of Action On Addiction, a charity that helps those struggling with drug and alcohol abuse as well as their family and friends.
On the red carpet at the Curzon Mayfair theatre, the Duchess met the film's cast and crew including the feline star of the show, Bob.
Tonight, Kate continued her run of experimenting with new labels. She debuted an off-white maxi dress by Self-Portrait, a London-based brand loved by American celebrities including Beyonce, Olivia Palermo and Paris Hilton.
The US$640 gown from the label's Resort 2016 collection features a sheer crotchet bodice with a high neckline and modesty panel. A grosgrain band accents the waist and the pleated crepe skirt is finished with a sexy high side slit.
Unfortunately the maxi dress has sold out but is available to rent from Australian retailer Glam Corner. Furthermore, the design is available in black at Lane Crawford.
There is also a similar but more formal design in the current collection.
The popular label was founded by Han Chong, a graduate of the prestigious Central Saint Martins fashion school. The school's alumni boasts some of Kate's favorite designers including Alexander McQueen and Christopher Kane. Chong logged a good decade working at other fashion labels before launching Self-Portrait in 2013. Lace is a signature element of his designs and contemporary femininity runs through his collections. You can find the brand at UK's leading retailers including ASOS, Shopbop, MatchesFashion, MyTheresa, and Selfridges.
Kate pinned a red poppy brooch to her to chest in honour of Remembrance Day. She donned the Poppy® Collection Sparkle Brooch designed by Buckley London, a piece she first wore for the Remembrance Sunday service in 2013. You can buy genuine poppy brooches supporting the Royal British Legion from The Poppy Shop, Buckley London, and Marks & Spencer.
The tie in the colour of the brooch, the Duchess accessorized with her cranberry suede Mulberry 'Bayswater' clutch bag and Gianvito Rossi 'Gianvito 105' Royale Burgundy Suede Pumps.
She finished the look with her Oscar de la Renta hammered gold-plated faux pearl earrings.
The Duchess of Cambridge is scheduled to attend another red carpet event next week. She will join the Queen & members of the royal family for the Festival of Remembrance at Royal Albert Hall on 12th November.
