This evening, the Duchess of Cambridge attended a special gala dinner to celebrate the 40th anniversary of SportsAid at her London home in Kensington Palace.
Kate has been the patron of the charity since 2013, whose aim is to help Britain’s next generation of Olympians, Paralympians and world champions in dealing with the financial difficulties faced early in their careers.
At the event, Kate mingled with SportsAid ambassadors, alumni and young athletes set to compete in the forthcoming Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
The Duchess was back in her favourite colour this evening. She premiered a gorgeous royal blue floor-length dress by Roland Mouret. The Duchess wore the designer's 'Nansen' cold-shoulder gown (US$3,710). It is currently available at Roland Mouret, Saks, My Theresa, and Harvey Nichols.
The dress is crafted in luxurious double crepe, and features a v-neckline and off-the shoulder detailing, while the body-skimming skirt gently flares from the knee. The 'Nansen' gown is also available in black and apricot pink.
This is the third dress in Kate's closet from the French fashion designer. In 2011, she wore the label's 'Manon' fitted sheath, and in 2012 she debuted the off-white 'Lombard'/'Ella' slit gown.
Tonight, Kate teamed the gown with black accessories: her Prada black satin clutch with stone embellishment, and what appears to be her Gianvito Rossi 'Sisely' Black Suede Sandals.
The Duchess showcased a new pair of dazzling hoop earrings.
They are the $49,000 Cartier Diamond Tricolor Gold Trinity Hoop Earrings (collectively identified @TheRoyalsAndI and @AnnieElizabethN)! The 18-carat earrings features pavé diamonds as well as three intertwined circles of pink, yellow and white gold.
The earrings are a match for her Cartier Trinity Necklace. The necklace and earrings may have been given to Kate as part of a set, but that’s not confirmed.
We'll see Kate again tomorrow when she joins the Queen and other members of the royal family for a National Service of Thanksgiving at St. Paul’s Cathedral in honour of Her Majesty's 90th birthday.
