Kate in Beulah black lace dress for her first night in New York

7/12/2014

Within an hour of arriving in New York, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge headed out to attend a private Royal Foundation reception dinner at the plush Manhattan apartment of English businessman Martin Sorrell.
Picture
Kate stepped out from The Carlyle Hotel, where they are staying during their 3 day trip, wearing a new black fit and flare lace cocktail dress from Beulah London. The style is called 'Amara' and is from the Spring Summer 2015 collection. The dress has an embroidered organza which overlays a silk crepe de chine lining. It is currently available for pre-order and will set you back £650.
Picture
Kate also donned a new pair of statement earrings. As yet, no details have emerged regarding the designer.

16/12/2014 UPDATE:
The amazing Facebook community of My Small Obsessions have identified Kate's stunning earrings as the  Kenneth Jay Lane Silvertone Crystal Earrings (€262).  It was refreshing to see the Duchess wear jewellery from an American costume jewelry designer, and a fitting choice for her first night in New York.

She accessorized with familiar pieces, carrying her Mulberry 'Bayswater' black suede clutch (£495) and wearing her Stuart Weistzman 'Power' pumps (US$335), also rendered in black suede.

Tomorrow the Duke and Duchess will have separate agendas.  Prince William will travel to Washington to meet US president Barack Obama, while Kate will visit a Harlem-based organisation for child development.  They will reunited in the evening and attend a NBA basketball match in Brooklyn, where they will watch local team the Brooklyn Nets take on the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Duchess wore black opaque tights with a pair of black suede ankle boots which are yet to be identified.

It has been suggested that they may be an old pair she has owned since 2009.

A follower of the Kate's Closet Facebook page has made an astute observation, suggesting that Kate may have worn the Topshop contrast collar dress under the Seraphine coat. The side-by-side photo below does show a strong similarity to the occasion when she wore it under her Goat 'Redgrave' coat when she was pregnant with Prince George.

Tonight they will attend a private Royal Foundation reception dinner at the plush Manhattan apartment of English businessman Martin Sorrell.

Kate wears Alexander McQueen for Remembrance Sunday 2014

9/11/2014

This morning, members of the royal family attended the annual Remembrance Sunday commemorations at the Cenotaph in Whitehall, London.  The Duchess of Cambridge attended the ceremony and watched the service from the Foreign Office balcony alongside the Duchess of Cornwall and the Countess of Wessex.

#458679326 / gettyimages.com
It is customary for royal women to wear black for the somber occasion. This year, Catherine wore a new fit-and-flare black coat from Alexander McQueen. The double-breasted pure wool coat has a military-inspired design featuring an oversized lapel, a nipped waist with buttons, and a softly pleated flared skirt.
Picture
Picture
There is also a shorter version of the coat.
Picture
It was a surprise to see Kate and Sophie wear the same coat style. It's believed Kate wore the longer version while Sophie the shorter one.
Picture
Kate's jewellery included her sapphire and diamond earrings, Mappin & Webb 'Empress' necklace and ared poppy-shaped brooch given to her by the wife of Victoria cross recipient Corporal Ben Roberts-Smith while on tour Australia.

#458681098 / gettyimages.com
The brooch is the Russian Imperial Crimson Anemone Pin from the Metropolitan Museum of Art store.  It originally retailed for US$85 but is no longer available.
Picture
Kate's V-neckline revealed a ruffled trimmed black dress under the coat. It has been suggested that it could be the frock she wore to lunch at Belgravia restaurant with Prince William & Pippa prior to the wedding in April 2011.
Picture
The Duchess topped off her outfit with a black Jane Corbett bowler-styled hat featuring a large sweeping bow adorned with studs. She wore this headpiece to her first Remembrance Sunday service in 2011.
Picture

12/11/2014 UPDATE:
The dress Kate wore under her Alexander McQueen black flare coat has been identified as the BCBGMAXAZRIA Tuxedo Trim Matte Jersey Dress. The matte jersey frock features a mandarin collar and a split neckline with charmeuse ruffle trim. The cap-sleeve dress also pleating below the banded waist. The dress is from about 2008 and we can now confirm it is the one Kate wore to lunch at Belgravia restaurant in April 2011 (photo above).

Upon arrival, Their Royal Highnesses viewed a display which chronicles the 50 year history of the refinery and its relationship with the community. They then met with refinery workers and various community organisations who are supported by the refinery.

The Duchess of Cambridge, who is patron of the charity Action on Addiction, attended their black-tie Autumn Gala dinner this evening. Kate stepped out on to the pink carpet at the L'Anima Restaurant in London's East End, looking radiant in a new Temperley London frock.
Picture
Picture
Picture
The piece is from Alice Temperley's pre-fall 2014 collection, the brand’s Emblem Flare dress.  The knee-length black dress features sheer chevron-style panels overlaying a nude slip. It is “inspired by stained glass ironwork and woven from a lightweight cotton-blend yarn.”  The design is finished with a bateau neckline and a scoop back. It retails for £595.
Picture
Picture
Temperley London also offers two other styles with the 'Emblem' design, a bodycon dress and long-sleeve top.
Picture
Picture
Kate added a thin black bow belt to enhance the waist of the dress.
Picture
The Duchess wore her black suede Jimmy Choo Cosmic Platform Pumps (US$695).
Picture
Tonight, Kate carried a "new" black beaded clutch with a fan motif on the flap.
Picture
Anna from My Small Obsessions believes the bag may be an older piece, carried during the wedding of Mel Nicholson & Oli Baker in May 2010.

The Duchess kept her jewellery simple,  wearing her diamond deco-style drop earrings.
