The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended the British Academy Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) awards ceremony this evening at Royal Albert Hall in London.
Prince William attended in his role as President of the Academy, a post he has held since 2010. The couple has attended the awards show every year since 2017. The BAFTA's dress code this year was focused on sustainability. The organization is working toward carbon neutrality and asked guests to consider wearing outfits that were either repeats, vintage, or from a sustainable fashion designer. The Duchess opted to repeat her bespoke Alexander McQueen gown first seen in Malaysia on the couple’s 2012 tour of Southeast Asia. The creamy-white gown features a sheer overlay sprinkled with a gold embroidered hibiscus floral motif. The gold lame embroidery also borders the short sleeves, scoop neckline, and runs down the center of the gown. Other elements include an empire waist, and a shirred white fabric at the bust.
Below is a look at the back of the dress.
It appears Kate had the sleeves altered. They are slimmer and no longer sheer compared to 2012. The Duchess accessorized the gown with new pieces. She carried an Anya Hindmarch 'Marano' Glitter-Finished Box Clutch (US$595).
On her feet were the Jimmy Choo 'Romy 100' pumps in Gold Glitter (US$725) - a style she also owns in silver glitter.
Kate complemented the gown with a new Van Cleef and Arpels Magic Alhambra set.
The Duchess wore the Van Cleef & Arpels Magic Alhambra Earrings with 2 Motifs (£5,400) and the Van Cleef & Arpels Magic Alhambra Necklace with 6 Motifs (£7,850). Tonight we saw the return of Kate's mystery emerald-cut citrine ring which is believed to date back to 2008. She starting wearing it again in 2018 at Harry and Meghan's wedding.
A closer look at Kate's glamorous up-do.
