Today, the Duchess of Cambridge traveled to the seaside town of Margate to tour the Turner Contemporary gallery and view the 'Self: Image and Identity' exhibition. The exhibition includes the last self-portrait by Sir Anthony Van Dyck, recently acquired by the National Portrait Gallery of which the Duchess is Patron. The Duchess also met artists whose works are in the exhibition and she saw first-hand how the Turner Contemporary engages with the local community in the Clore Learning Studio, where she met local school children involved in an art project. Now down to the business of what Kate wore. On Monday, we saw the Duchess repeat the pink Alexander McQueen coat which she wore during her first pregnancy, so it came as no surprise when Kate appeared in Margate wearing the Hobbs 'Dalmatian' print mac coat. She first wore the coat for the Princess Cruise ship naming in June 2013. Notably it was her last solo engagement before the birth of Prince George. As she did in 2013, Kate kept her accessories simple to offset the busy print. She wore her black suede Stuart Weitzman 'Power' pumps and Mulberry 'Bayswater' suede clutch. Kate wore her hair in a pretty ponytail and finished the outfit with her classic Annoushka pearl drop and Kiki diamond hoop earrings. Following her visit to the Turner Contemporary, the Duchess of Cambridge travelled several blocks to the Resort Studios in Cliftonville. She viewed an exhibition featuring photomontages of local personalities and met artists in residence to hear about their work with communities within Cliftonville. Kate also toured the studios, including a print studio, project space and more general workspaces. Don't forget to tune in tomorrow for Kate's visit to the set of Downton Abbey! Today, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge joined The Queen and other senior members of the Royal Family at Westminster Abbey for a multi-faith service to observe Commonwealth Day. This is the Duke & Duchess' first attendance of the annual event.
Commonwealth Day is the annual celebration of the Commonwealth of Nations held on the second Monday in March. The event is usually attended by the Queen in her role as Head of the Commonwealth. The Queen delivers an address to the Commonwealth, which is broadcast globally.
This year's Observance focused on the theme ‘A Young Commonwealth’ – underlining the fact that people aged 29 or under account for the majority of the Commonwealth's population.
Today, The Duchess opted to repeat her bespoke Alexander McQueen powder pink coat which she wore to Trooping the Colour 2013, while she was pregnant with Prince George.
Kate also brought back her Prada 'Raso' satin clutch which coordinated perfectly with her Prada rose satin pumps.
There were some new additions to Kate's outfit. She donned a new Jane Taylor hat made from straw with a silk straw twist.
The Duchess styled her hair in a pretty half up-do which revealed a lovely pair of Kiki McDonough earrings we’ve not seen previously. Kiki confirmed via Twitter that they are the pink morganite cushion drops on Kiki Classic white gold hoops.
A closer look at Kate's half up-do. Today's event kicks off a busy week for the Duchess. On Wednesday she will visit the Turner Contemporary gallery in Margate, followed by a visit to the Resort Studios in Cliftonville. Then on Thursday, her much anticipated visit to the set of Downton Abbey will take place. Her week will end with a service of commemoration to mark the end of combat operations in Afghanistan at St Paul’s Cathedral.

The Duchess of Cambridge made a private visit to the Goring Hotel in London today. She was there to help celebrate the hotel's 105th birthday. You may recall, this is where Kate stayed with her family the night before her wedding in April 2011. The Goring Hotel released a few photos on their Facebook page from the occasion, including this one showing the Duchess adding some finishing touches to the Fromental wallpaper in the lobby. Kate, who was pictured leaving the five-star hotel after lunch today, donned a pretty purple floral dress from Erdem. She wore the £995 silk chiffon 'Darla' design, from their Spring 2013 collection. The Duchess teamed the dress with her bespoke Alexander McQueen navy suede pumps, and 'Muse' clutch by Stuart Weitzman for Russell & Bromley. She finished the outfit with her sparkly aquamarine and diamond earrings. REPLIKATE THE LOOK ...
