The Princess of Wales made her first public appearance today following the completion of her cancer treatment.

She joined her husband, Prince William, to meet with the families of the young victims from the tragic mass stabbing in Southport on July 29. The devastating attack, which claimed the lives of three children during a Taylor Swift-themed yoga and dance class, has deeply affected the community.
At the Southport Community Centre, the royal couple also met with members of the fire, ambulance, air ambulance, and police services. They listened as first responders shared their experiences of handling the aftermath of the attack and discussed the toll it has taken on their mental health.

In recognition of World Mental Health Day on October 10, William and Kate also engaged with mental health professionals who have been offering crucial support to first responders in the months following the tragedy.

On Wednesday, the Princess of Wales made a return to public royal engagements after completing a course of preventative chemotherapy treatment.

She joined Prince William at Windsor Castle to meet 16-year-old Liz Hatton, a young photographer bravely battling a rare and aggressive form of cancer. Liz had received a personal invitation from the future king to attend an investiture he was hosting. Following the event, Liz and her family had a private audience with William and Kate, where they shared her cancer journey and discussed her experiences.
