On Tuesday, the Prince and Princess of Wales visited Northern Ireland to meet with organisations offering job and vocational training opportunities for young people in rural communities.
Their first stop was the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service’s new Learning and Development College in Cookstown, where they learned about the training programs that prepare young people to become the next generation of firefighters.
Afterwards, the Prince and Princess of Wales visited Mallon Farm in County Tyrone to highlight the revival of Northern Ireland’s flax-to-linen heritage. There, they heard from the farm’s owners about their mission to develop a sustainable linen industry.
For their final stop, the Prince and Princess of Wales visited Long Meadow Cider in County Armagh, a family-run farm.
They joined in harvesting apples and toured the production facilities before helping to make traditional potato apple bread using the owners’ family recipe.
For today’s engagements in Northern Ireland, the Princess opted for a mix of familiar favourites and new pieces. At the first stop with the Fire and Rescue Service, she wore her forest green Alexander McQueen midi coat.
The bespoke coat has been part of her wardrobe since January 2020 and has made several appearances over the years.
On her feet, she wore her custom Gianvito Rossi Block Heel Boots in brown suede — a custom, pointed-toe version of the brand's ‘Glen 85’ boot.
For the farm visits, Kate swapped her wool coat for her trusty Barbour Waxed Defence Jacket, a staple in her wardrobe since 2012.
She also swapped her high-heeled boots for a pair of brown suede flat boots, a style we have not seen her wear before. The brand remains unidentified.
The Princess paired her Ralph Lauren Collection ‘Evelyn’ Birdseye Tweed Skirt with a new WNU sweater — the British brand’s Jura Cardigan (US$290) in a warm coffee hue.
Kate cinched her look with Brora’s Woven Leather Belt in chocolate brown.
The Princess topped off her look with the Daniella Draper Mini Cupid Hoops With Baby Shamrock Charms.
And finally, a look at Kate’s softly styled, flowing locks.

While I adore the Alexander McQueen coat, the overall look with the Barbour jacket falls disastrously flat into dowdy territory. This is peak traditional English countryside styling but has zero charm for the modern eye. It lacks any spark of appeal.

Kate is still in her 40s, why is she wearing such grandma clothing now. The outer look looks good but that skirt with shirt and sweater, also her look with melania....both were a big let down.

Love it! She styled for both occasions so smartly. I love the skirt, and the cardigan. I always loved the Alexander McQueen coat. The second look is so nice. It's down to earth, approachable, warm... Not sure what it is I just love this look she looks amazing and comfortable! I'm obsessed!

I like the Alexander McQueen repeat and think the Princess continues to look well in it for visiting the Fire and Rescue service training programs. But as for the second outfit of the day -- I'm afraid words fail me. This is full-on country farmer's wife and doesn't strike me as appropriate for public appearances, the layers are overloaded and clumsy in silhouette, especially with the Barbour on top.
