On Tuesday, the Princess of Wales travelled to West Wales to highlight Welsh textile manufacturers.
Her first stop was at Melin Tregwynt, a historic, family-owned Welsh woollen mill operating since the 17th century in Pembrokeshire.
The Princess met Melin Tregwynt’s director, Louise Clarke and then spent time with weavers at the loom and learned about the skills required for Welsh double cloth weaving, which Melin Tregwynt is renowned for.
She then visited Hiut Denim in Cardigan, where she was welcomed to the factory by Barney, an English cocker spaniel.
The Princess met with the design team and learned how ideas are developed from initial sketches to prototypes and, ultimately, finished products. She was keen to try her hand at sewing a label onto a pair of the brand’s ‘Hack’ jeans, intended as a gift for Prince William.
Catherine then travelled to Lampeter to visit the Welsh Quilt Centre, home to founder Jen Jones’s extensive quilt collection. Jen has been collecting Welsh quilts for over 40 years and opened the centre in 2009 to give the public the opportunity to see, enjoy, and learn about her remarkable collection.
Her final stop was the Tŷ Hafan children’s hospice shop in Lampeter where she spent time with volunteers.
For today’s away-day in West Wales, the Princess stepped out in a retro-inspired double-breasted coat, balanced with contemporary staples.
There's debate whether the coat is a vintage coat or a contemporary piece made from vintage fabric. I noticed a label on the inside of Kate's coat, which suggests the piece may be vintage rather than bespoke.
ID UPDATE! It's vintage! The coat is by Dillad Dwyryd Cymru - a brand/manufacturer of traditional, Welsh wool tapestry clothing produced in Wales during the 1960s. Thanks to @LadyParky79 for tracking down the label! Here's a cape in the same fabric with a closer look at the tag.
N.Peal posted on their Instagram story that Kate was wearing their 'Luna' Turtleneck Cashmere Sweater in Arabica Khaki Green (US$395).
The Princess debuted a new pair of Victoria Beckham trousers, the brand’s ‘Alina’ twill wide-leg style in Oregano Green, a silhouette inspired by 1970s design. Made from a virgin wool–polyester blend with added stretch, the style features a very high waist, wide-leg silhouette, and patch pockets.
Here's a closer look at Kate's olive leather belt.
On her feet were the Emmy London 'Josie' Mid Block Heel in Chocolate Suede.
The Princess finished the look with her Spells of Love Removable Teardrop Garnet Charm Hoops.

Oh, I adore this vintage looking coat. The colors and fabric pattern, I love. It's different and individual and so different to her normal type/style of coats. Lovely fit and length. I love the color of the turtleneck and VB pants, works well off the color of her coat. The VB pants are a good fit, I love the length of these pants. I do like the high waist. The chocolate-colored suede shoes were a great color choice. Her hair pinned back off her face, and curls, looks soft and bouncy. This was a wonderful visit by the Princess. The Textiles particularly so interesting, some beautiful pieces. Lovely to see the Princess out and about looking well and engaging.

Great job IDing the coat Elizabeth! It's a stunning piece that fits the Princess like a glove and a perfect choice for the textile engagements. The green turtleneck and VB trousers work well with the bold coat. This is my favourite outfit of 2026 to date.
