The Duchess of Cambridge, Patron of 1851 Trust visited the Docklands Sailing and Watersports Centre in London today to attend the charity's final Land Rover BAR Roadshow.
The 1851 Trust has partnered with Land Rover and the Bermuda Tourism Authority to deliver five regional events for local school children to attend for a day, taking part in a variety of educational and fun activities designed to offer a behind-the-scenes look at the technology used by and the challenges faced by Land Rover BAR in their quest to be the first British team to win the America’s Cup.
As expected, the Duchess opted for a nautical style. She looked the part in a pair of cropped sailor pants by J.Crew.
The J.Crew sailor pant in two-way stretch wool feature decorative gold buttons at the waist and hip pockets. The trousers retailed for US$138 but have regrettably sold out.
The brand does however offer a range of other Sailor-inspired pieces:
Many of us have been hoping to see Kate professionalize her outfits for low-key events and it was refreshing to see her make a sartorial departure from her usual skinny jeans today. Let's hope the trend continues!
Kate contrasted the navy trousers with her white Zara waffle-knit blazer, and on her feet she wore the tweed J.Crew 'Avery' heels. Both pieces are from the outfit she debuted on the final day of the Canadian royal tour last Fall.
Under the white blazer Kate wore a tonal jersey top with a round neckline. It is currently unidentified.
During the event she put on a 'Band of Britain' - a limited edition supporter’s wristband, made from recycled ocean plastics developed with the BAR team’s Exclusive Sustainability Partner 11th Hour Racing and BIONIC® Yarn. Profits from the sales of the Band of Britain will go to the 1851 Trust.
She finished the look with her Mirabelle Lolita Gold Plated Loop Earrings and Cartier Ballon Bleu Stainless Steel Bracelet Watch.
