The day began with a surprise visit to Borough Market, where the couple met traders and small business owners who contribute to the local economy along the Thames.

They visited several stalls, interacting with vendors and even stepping behind the counter—Kate tried her hand at making coffee and serving desserts while the pair spoke with social enterprises supporting vulnerable communities.

They later walked part of the Bermondsey Beer Mile, a well-known stretch of independent breweries in south London. There, the Prince and Princess met with brewers and hospitality workers, learning about the role of small businesses and local producers in the Thames riverside neighbourhoods. 
​The engagements concluded with a visit to the RNLI Tower Lifeboat Station, where the couple met volunteers and crew from the Royal National Lifeboat Institution. 
They thanked the team for their lifesaving work on the Thames and joined them on a short lifeboat trip along the river to learn more about their rescue operations and preparations for upcoming events such as the University Boat Race.
For the outing, the Princess donned her custom Catherine Walker Glen check blazer, perfectly complemented by her brown Joseph 'Coleman' trousers.

The Princess stepped out in a bespoke navy blue Catherine Walker coatdress, a masterclass in tailoring featuring a double-breasted silhouette, peaked shoulders, and sharp notch lapels. 
The garment is defined by a pleated skirt and a clever waist-level hem that, when viewed from the rear, creates the elegant illusion of separates.
Evoking the silhouettes of the 'Amarante' and 'Bellflower' models, this custom creation also incorporates a collar seemingly adapted from the 'Courchevel' coatdress.

Afterward, the royal couple visited Oriel Davies, the public contemporary art gallery in Newtown, where they viewed a project funded by the Alexandra Reinhardt Memorial Award that supports the wellbeing of children and young people in the local community. They also joined one of the gallery’s regular creative workshops, designed to foster social connection and build confidence.
Finally, the Prince and Princess visited Hafan yr Afon, a vibrant hub for culture, community, and heritage. They attended a celebration of volunteer groups and community champions in Powys, where they met with a range of volunteers and community groups across the region, including youth, sustainability, arts and wellbeing.

For the away day in Powys, the Princess chose a striking monochrome maroon ensemble, anchored by a bespoke coat designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen.
Kate first debuted the piece in December 2024 during the Qatar State Welcome. The coat features a structured double-breasted front and angled flap pockets that enhance its sharp tailoring, while its standout detail is the meticulously stitched open lapel, adding subtle dimension and craftsmanship.​

What Kate Wore notes that the design shares several elements with Catherine Walker’s 'Yves' style, including a single-breasted open silhouette, notch peak lapels, a back vent, and structured shoulders. The Princess’s version, however, omits the slit cuffs and contrasting velvet back collar of the Yves.

The Princess met with the design team and learned how ideas are developed from initial sketches to prototypes and, ultimately, finished products. She was keen to try her hand at sewing a label onto a pair of the brand’s ‘Hack’ jeans, intended as a gift for Prince William.
Catherine then travelled to Lampeter to visit the Welsh Quilt Centre, home to founder Jen Jones’s extensive quilt collection. Jen has been collecting Welsh quilts for over 40 years and opened the centre in 2009 to give the public the opportunity to see, enjoy, and learn about her remarkable collection.

There's debate whether the coat is a vintage coat or a contemporary piece made from vintage fabric. I noticed a label on the inside of Kate's coat, which suggests the piece may be vintage rather than bespoke.

​She began the day with a visit to Family Action’s Children’s Trauma Therapy Service in Bradford. 
The Princess, who has been Family Action’s royal patron since 2019, supports the organisation’s work helping children aged four to eighteen, and their families, to understand and recover from the effects of complex trauma. The service works closely with families who have experienced adversity, abuse and traumatic bereavement.

​The Princess’s next engagement took place at Wakefield Trinity Rugby League Club, where she learned how the club’s outreach programmes bring generations together and support individuals experiencing isolation within the community.

For their day of engagements in Stirling and Falkirk, the Duchess of Rothesay wore a bespoke blue tartan double-breasted midi coat by London-based tailor Chris Kerr, crafted from wool fabric specially woven by Johnstons of Elgin.
She collaborated closely with Johnstons of Elgin to design the custom tartan pattern, selecting colours that evoke the Scottish Saltire flag.
