Strathmore Rose TiaraThe Strathmore Rose Tiara, once owned by Queen Elizabeth (Queen Mother), was a wedding gift from her father, the Earl of Strathmore, when she, then Lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon, married the Duke of York, who later became King George VI, in 1923. This tiara was crafted in the late 1800s and acquired from Catchpole & Williams. It showcases a garland of roses made from rose-cut diamonds, set in silver and gold. The pavé-set diamond roses are detachable and can be used as individual brooches. The tiara is designed with two different frames, allowing it to be worn either on top of the head or across the forehead in the bandeau style. |
