Today, a colleague of mine showed up to work wearing this gorgeous ponte sheath dress with a simple black blazer. It immediately reminded me of the Temperley 'Titan' dress which Kate wore back in December 2010 (when she was still Miss Middleton). When you're fanatical about Kate's fashion, you can't help but see elements of her style everywhere!
I asked her where she bought it from and she directed me to Amazon. I thought it would be fun to put together a Kate-inspired collage to show how to rock this frock from day to night. For the evening, I recommend a peplum blazer, and adding some bling. I choose this Victorian inspired necklace to resemble the neckline of the Temperley dress. Accessorize with an elegant clutch and simple heels. DONE! The Erdem navy lace dress was an instant hit when the Duchess of Cambridge wore it on her first day of the Royal Tour of Canada in June 2011. I have recreated this look for under £80, all from Marks & Spencer! They have free shipping within the UK, and to Australia, New Zealand, Canada and USA! Kate's brightly hued shirt dress from Jaeger has been massively reduced! The Duchess of Cambridge wore this frock back in September 2012 to multiple events in Honiara, the capitol of the Solomon Islands during the Jubilee Tour. This dress comes in three colours; yellow, tan and pink. It originally retailed for £180 but was recently restocked and reduced to £60.00! The pink and tan dresses have been further reduced to just £49! Get shopping >
4th of July is only a couple days away! Obviously we don't celebrate it here in Australia, but since my hubby is American we honour the day by knocking back a few Budweisers :) Who's got their Independence Day outfit sorted? Here's some inspiration if you need a little help! 1. Phase Eight Bolero £50 - SHOP: http://tidd.ly/67b2cc0b

I would love to get my hands on this frock but it sold out long ago, and it was probably beyond my budget anyway. I was inspired to revisit the Orla Kiely dress when I recently found this ModCloth replikate. Unfortunately they don't have it in my size so I starting looking around for more alternatives. I didn't have much luck, so I thought I would get creative and "make" a replikate. I can't sew, so that was out of the question, but I had a light-bulb moment when I was browsing online and came across a lace necklace. That's when it dawned on me that I could try find a grey dress with a similar silhouette as the O.K. dress and pair it with a lace necklace! Amazon seemed to have everything I was looking for! I found a Suzi Chin grey dress and this super cute (and cheap!) lace necklace. For completeness, I added a clutch and suede shoes :) These items are still in my Amazon cart because I'm waiting on reviews for the Suzi Chin dress to see how it fits. Living in Australia has its disadvantages when it comes to shopping online from overseas retailers. Unfortunately, it's costly to ship and return if it doesn't fit :( So I bank on reviews to help with my buying decision. If anyone wants to give this replikate a go, please let me know how you get on! |
I have retired the "Bits and Bobs" section of the website and started a new segment title "Outfit Chronicle".
