The Duchess went under the radar this week to make a private visit to The Treehouse in Suffolk – which is run by one of her patronages, East Anglia Children's Hospices. The visit coincided with Children's Hospice Week which is focused on raising money and awareness for those supporting children with life-limiting illnesses. For this personal visit, Kate wore a paisley printed wrap dress by Diana von Furstenberg. This dress has been in Kate's closet since 2002 where she was snapped wearing to a party in St Andrew's. Since then she has worn it on a couple of occasions, once in 2005 when out to dinner with William and more recently when on tour in Malaysia. The DVF 'Duenne' wrap dress showcases a pink paisley pattern on a charcoal grey silk jersey background. It is characterised by pink piping along the torso, collar, cuffs and pocket. The dress is made from 100% silk and has a classic surplice v-neck and finished with a self-belt. The Duchess released a statement , in which she says: "Around the clock support is crucial for children receiving palliative care. They and their families often need help every hour of every day, both in hospices and at home. As Patron of EACH, I have seen first-hand this remarkable and varied work and just how vital the support of staff and volunteers can be to the families of children with life limiting conditions. It has been wonderful to see the fantastic public support for Children's Hospice Week over the last few days. Please continue supporting your local children's hospice in whatever way you can." It's wonderful to see Kate continuing to give back behind the scenes, without the glare of the media. Because of the sensitivity of the visit, EACH are not disclosing any further details about her private visit. A royal source says, she wanted to learn more about the services that are required for families with seriously ill children. She was also shown the role that volunteers can play for children's hospices – an issue "she is exploring further" through the Royal Foundation set up in her name and that of Princes William and Harry.
