IF I WERE KATE'S STYLIST
I'm sure many of you would agree that having the role of Kate's stylist would be the best job in the world! Seriously, how much fun would it be to help Kate shop and experiment with new looks!? In this occasional segment, I showcase my daydream outfits for the Duchess!
Whilst I loved the individual pieces of Kate's recent outfit, the overall look was a little too prim for my personal taste. I would love to see Kate rework the jacket with a pair of fine wool trousers (which I'm dying to see her wear!) and a patterned scarf to bring cohesion and sophistication to the whole look.

This week the Duchess continued her run of experimenting with new labels. She debuted the 'Josephine' silk shirt by Gerard Darel, a French fashion boutique that embodies French elegance and takes inspiration from iconic figures such as Jackie Kennedy and Marilyn Monroe. The brand's design philosophy resonates with Kate's style so we may see her in any one of these Duchess-worthy looks by Gerard Darel in the near future:

FASHION UPDATES
This week a "new" photo of the Duchess of Cambridge emerged from 4th Nov 2016 on her way to an engagement. She was snapped holding a new-to-us black leather bag by Smythson. It's the brand's Panama East West Zip Tote (£650).
--------
A long standing "UFO" was resolved this week! @theladywallace alerted us to an eBay listing showing a match for the crotchet trimmed camisole Kate wore underneath her Paule Ka suit in 2012, and more recently with her Erdem check coat.
The tank top is by a brand called CHARLOTTE TARANTOLA. Unfortunately the company's website offers no insight about the brand. The eBay seller, copyKate offers a closer look at the crotchet trim detail. Whilst the top on the left has a contrasting white body, Kate's appears to be all black. Despite this difference I think we can confidently conclude this is the manufacturer of the camisole.

Kate looked absolutely stunning when she stepped out for the Heads Together event this week. I'm still gushing over the hair, makeup and dress! But I'm going to nitpick and say the Erdem Evita dress was a little too "cocktail" for this daytime event.
I'll give the Duchess credit for attempting to tone it down with block heels, but perhaps adding a blazer would make this outfit a little more business and a little less cocktail. The Queen of Spain has mastered this look and I took a leaf out of her style book to create ensembles below that help transform the Erdem Evita dress from party to professional.
To add a touch of business-chic to the Evita frock, below I've teamed it with an on-trend velvet blazer and panty hose. In Spring, I would ditch the stockings and pick up on the pale cornflower blue accents in the dress to refresh the look.

In 2016 the Duchess experimented with many new labels and for her final public engagement of last year, she debuted a festive red and green floral dress by Vanessa Seward. This motivated me to have a look at the designer's other ready-to-wear pieces. I came across these Duchess-worthy looks by the French fashion designer:
