NEWSAs expected, it was a quiet news week on the Kate front. The Cambridge's are enjoying their annual vacation in Mustique with the Middleton family. The young royal family were spotted arriving in St. Lucia en route from London. It's rumoured photos were taken at the airport, but it remains to be seen if/when these will surface. Last year, Hello magazine published exclusive photos of Kate and baby George at the airport so it wouldn't surprise me if they got the scoop again this year. Carole and Michael Middleton were spotted jetting off to Mustique on Sunday morning. ---------- UPCOMING ENGAGEMENTS Thursday, 12th February 2015 The Duchess of Cambridge, Royal Patron of the 1851 Trust, will visit Portsmouth to see the progress on the new home of Ben Ainslie Racing and the 1851 Trust and view an art project by the local community. The tartan shawl wrap from Amazon is a bargain at only US$6.69. Below is Erin's comment: "I bought this scarf you had shown in December- this is the one from Amazon- really good quality, very happy with it! It is a little darker and more maroon than it appears in the photo." Click to buy from Amazon > ---------- A fellow repliKater who wants to be identified as "KC", purchased the DVF 'Patrice' wrap dress repliKate from eBay "I am a size 10 US and ordered an XL in this dress. It's a little tight around the waist, but big in the bust, so I'm not sure I could have gone up a size. I like the dress, however, there is one issue with the construction of the top half of the dress. One side is a bit longer than the other, and it creates a folded section just above the waist (almost the entire length of my waist). I have to wear a cami under the dress due to the gape around the bust from the side view and the fact that the dress is a bit too large in that area. Otherwise, I get lots of compliments whenever I wear it! I've been styling it with blue tights and boots in order to wear it to work in the winter. I paid about $50 for the dress, however, for the quality, I think $20-30 would be a more fair price. Due to the navy and white colors of the dress, I have had it dry cleaned to avoid having the navy bleed in the washer. It looks great after a couple of dry cleanings!" Click to buy from eBay > ---------- Jill Williams picked up these gorgeous repliKates of the Catherine Zoraida Double Leaf Earrings for £25.59. Jill says "My double leaf earrings have arrived from people tree. They are made of brass and are just the right size for me. Good quality and good customer service." Click to buy from Surf Dome > ---------- The H&M repliKate of the Tory Burch 'Bettina' Grey Tweed Coat has been very popular with our readers, and Tiffany LeFevre kindly reviewed it for us. Tiffany says; "It does have some major differences from the Tory Burch, like the neckline, zipper, and no shine, but the shape is spot on. (And for a fraction of the cost of the real deal, I will take it!) It is very comfortable and provides enough warmth for our California "winter". I like the zipper more the buttons personally...it's quicker to get on and off" Tiffany used the size chart on the H&M website and wears it in a size US 4. She says "it fits nicely. I like that it leaves a little room if I wanted to wear a thicker top/light sweater underneath." It's believed the royal family have returned to their beloved getaway spot to celebrate Carole Middleton's upcoming 60th birthday. WHAT'S NEW IN KATE'S CLOSET This week, Kate debuted three new pieces from her closet: REPLIKATE ROUNDUP My favourite repliKate finds of the week ... REPLIKATE REVIEW I know some of you hesitate to buy repliKates from AliExpress or eBay due to concerns about sizing and quality. I thought this space would be a good opportunity for us to review our repliKate purchases. If you would like to submit a review of your recent purchase, please shoot through an email to [email protected]. Please include a short review about the quality and fit, the product link and photos (optional but recommended). ---------- Giulia Giusto kindly posted a review and photos of her wearing this gorgeous repliKate of the Prabal Gurung dress from AliExpress: "The dress is very good, the quality of the fabric surprised me, it is thick, soft and every seam is perfect, it has liner and the... zip is invisible. The fabric, as the original dress, is a little bit shiny, colors are a bit brighter than the PG dress. The details are not exact the same but for the price it is an amazing piece!" Click to buy from AliExpress > ---------- Marianna posted the following review about the stunning Suzannah Budding Hearts repliKate dress she purchased from eBay: "I ordered the Green Floral Budding Heart Print Tea Silk Vintage Dress from eBay. The dress is a real bargain at £31.99 (about $48), plus £6 (about $9) worldwide signed-for shipping. Shipping took quite some time: I ordered the dress on 17 August and it only shipped on 26 August. Afterwards, it took about a month for it to get to me in Italy with registered postage, and I received it on 29 September. Anyway, dealing with the seller was a pleasure, as they always replied to emails straight away. Listed as being 80% viscose and 20% silk, the dress is, thankfully, much less shiny in person than it looks in the listing photos. The fabric is reasonably good quality, although I very much doubt it's silk-mix. The cut looks a lot like the original Suzannah dress, down to the skirt part being lined in a white fabric, and the print is almost identical. The main difference I noticed is, in the eBay copy the white hearts have a black/dark grey contour, which is absent in the original print. I'm usually a UK size 12, I got the size 14, as I was worried it'd run small, and it fits me perfectly. The dress is available in UK sizes 8-18. I found the measurements supplied were fairly accurate; plus, at 101 cm long, the dress is the perfect lenght for me (I'm 168 cm tall). My original blog post on the subject can be found here."
