REPLIKATE ROUNDUP
Below are my favourite repliKate finds of the week ...
REPLIKATE REVIEW
Kate's beloved Cartier Ballon Bleu watch comes with a hefty price tag but luckily their are several repliKates that offer the distinctive blue hands. Margaret has shared her review of a budget friendly timepiece from Peugeot.
"I received the Peugeot Silver Tone Watch for Christmas. I really like it! I think that it looks similar to Kate's much more expensive Cartier watch because it incorporates some aspects of the Cartier watch like the blue hands, the silver tone and the roman numerals. It's substantial, but not too heavy. I find it very comfortable and easy to wear. It looks more expensive than it is, which is always a plus. The watch comes in a nice red box with a foam insert. Also, it's good to know that Kohls (the retailer) has sales frequently- this watch is often 30% off the list price."
----------
Britany wanted a non-maternity version of the ASOS dotted wrap dress and decided to purchase this Mango repliKate:
"Just wanted to let you know I just received the black polka dot replicate from mango. And it's amazing! Great quality dress. Not too long or too short (I'm only 5'3". The arms are semi sheer which makes it unique as well."

FASHION UPDATES
A couple weeks ago I posted about the Stuart Weitzman 'Anna' wedges which has a peep-toe silhouette and smaller heel compared to the Corkswoon.
Stuart Weitzman now also has the 'Logoyork' wedge. Like the 'Anna' it has a 3.5" heel but with the same design as the Corkswoon. When you take into account the 1" platform, that's an effective heel height of only 2.5"! These are made to order via Neiman Marcus >
Neiman Marcus also has an impressive selection of the Corkswoon wedges, available in a range of colors and fabrics:

WHAT'S NEW IN KATE'S CLOSET This week, Kate debuted a couple new pieces from her closet: REPLIKATE ROUNDUP Below are my favourite repliKate finds of the week ... ---------- Easter is nearly here so I thought I'd put together a Duchess inspired outfit for the holiday. I think this outfit will work well for both northern and southern hemisphere climates. REPLIKATE REVIEW This week, Margaret has kindly shared two repliKate reviews. The first is for the Ray-Ban Folding Wayfarer Sunglasses repliKates from Amazon: I purchased a replikate of the Ray-Ban Tortoise Folding Wayfarer Sunglasses from Amazon for $10. I am very pleased with them and they have quickly become my favorite pair of sunglasses. They are comfortable and very flattering. The folding feature is also very nice. They are a good replikate, especially for the price. ---------- Margaret has also reviewed these $2.50 repliKates for the Mirabelle Lolita earrings she bought from eBay: I really liked the Mirabelle Lolita earrings when Kate wore them. However, I wear mostly silver tone earrings, so it didn't seem financially wise to buy the original earrings. When I saw the repliKate Ebay version on katescloset.com.au, I was very excited. For just a few dollars, I could have a similar look. I went ahead and purchased them. They arrived in about a week and I am pleased with them! They capture the essence of the original. The eBay earrings are plainer, smooth hoops. (It looks like the Mirabelle ones have a texture and a thicker ring.) All in all, I am happy with my purchase. If you would like to submit a review of your recent repliKate purchase, please send an email to [email protected]. Please include a short review about the quality and fit, the product link, and photos (optional but recommended). WHAT'S NEW IN KATE'S CLOSET This week, Kate debuted several new pieces from her closet: REPLIKATE ROUNDUP Below are my favourite repliKate finds of the week ... REPLIKATE REVIEW Last month I came across a repliKate for the Temperley Lotus Leopard scarf on AliExpress. For less than the price of a cup of coffee, I didn't hesitate to buy it. After a looooong wait, it finally arrived this week. The photos below show what a great repliKate this is. I LOVE it! It's made from viscose but has the feel of cotton. I only wish there were a few more orange spots dotted around the scarf. I may try adding more with fabric paint. The orange spots remind me of Pac-Man :) PS. You can get all my outfit details here. This week I was super excited to unwrap this little parcel from Heavenly Necklaces. As I gently removed the fine tissue paper it revealed what is arguably the world's most talked about fakes; the Heavenly Necklaces 'Pearl and Diamond' earrings as seen on the Duchess of Cambridge. When I first discovered that the Duchess wore imitation jewels I was surprised, but according to the founder of Heavenly Necklaces, Belinda Hadden, many well-heeled people wear fakes. The company has a long list of rich and famous clientele! I would love to get my hands on that little black book ;) The words I would use to describe these earrings are elegant, simple, beautiful and understated. The CZ diamonds have an eye-catching sparkle and the resin pearls have a lovely lustre. I now understand why Kate added these little beauties to her impressive collection of jewels! They are lightweight which is important to me because my sensitive lobes can't tolerate heavy earrings. Also they are made from Sterling Silver plated in rhodium: a precious metal that protects allergy-prone wearers from the nickel in silver, and prevents the silver from tarnishing. Prior to seeing Kate wear these earrings, I had never been a fan of imitation fine jewellery. But what the Duchess has taught me, is that the trick to pulling it off is to choose something simple. Something that looks like you might have been able to afford the real thing! If you've been lucky enough to snag a genuine ASO Kate item and would like to brag or leave a review, please send me an email at [email protected] FASHION UPDATES DVF will be restocking the 'Zarita' black lace gown and is currently taking pre-orders: ---------- If you like the look of the Stuart Weitzman Corkswoon wedges but would prefer a lower heel height, then the 'Anna' is for you! It's available in navy suede from Nordstrom: It's been a fun yet exhausting week following the Duchess! The 11 hour time difference between London and Melbourne meant very little sleep for me. I'll be curled up in bed this weekend trying to replenish the sleep bank!
NEWSWe had a lovely mid week surprise with photos of the Duchess of Cambridge leaving the Goring Hotel. She was there to celebrate the hotel's 105th birthday and their recent reopening after extensive renovations. Click to read the full story > ---------- UPCOMING ENGAGEMENTS Next week is going to be a BIG one for us Kate watchers! This event may break the internet! 13th March 2015 @ 11:00 AM The Duke & Duchess of Cambridge will join The Queen and other members of the royal family at a service of commemoration to mark the end of combat operations in Afghanistan at St Paul’s Cathedral. REPLIKATE ROUNDUPBelow are my favourite repliKate finds of the week ... ---------- ST PATRICKS DAY OUTFIT INSPIRATION We still don't know if the Duchess will attend the traditional St Patrick's Day parade, but one thing is for certain, Kate always makes a sartorial nod to the holiday. After coming across this cute flippy green dress, it inspired this collage with a twist on Kate's St Patrick's Day outfits. SHOP: Green Crystal Earrings | Shamrock Brooch | Green Shirt Dress | Pillbox Hat | Suede Clutch | Suede Platform Pumps REPLIKATE REVIEWA few repliKaters have shared reviews of the H&M stripe top (US$17.95) - an excellent substitute for Kate's Ralph Lauren 'Tori' Breton top. The consensus is; the material is a little thin but offers enough coverage. It's probably best to wash it in a laundry bag to minimise wear. It's comfortable with a great fit. For the price it's well worth it and the buttons at the shoulder are a nice touch. If you would like to submit a review of your recent repliKate purchase, please send an email to [email protected]. Please include a short review about the quality and fit, the product link, and photos (optional but recommended). PRODUCT REVIEWJill Piers from Canada but was recently in Florida where she was lucky enough to find a pair of the J Brand 811 Navy jeans at Nordstrom Rack in Tampa for $80! Here is what Jill has to say about them: "They are beautiful!!!! I tried them on and while they fit snug in the legs and hips (what I was looking for) the waist is very comfortable. They are incredibly soft and have enough stretch to make them very comfortable to wear. I can understand why Catherine wears them as much as she does. These have quickly become my favourite jeans!! However, they are such a dark wash...almost navy....the dye does come off on your hands, if you're not careful....I would recommend washing them separately the first couple of times......I just got them so haven't washed yet." ---------- A fellow replikater wanted to share her review of the Aquatalia 'Rhumba' boots she bought on sale from Nordstrom. These boots are so lovely and go with so many outfits. So happy I got them on sale and this is my investment. I prefer quality over quantity. They are also comfortable and I can wear them for 4 hours with no pain even I don’t have large calf muscles. They really are weather proofed—stepped these boots in couple inches of snow on the and the suede stays very nice after getting wet from the snow. I usually wipe them off after I get home. Also, I'm normally a size 5.5 to 6 and 6 is perfect for me. I would highly recommend these boots. They are very attractive. If you've been lucky enough to snag a genuine aso Kate item and would like to brag or leave a review, please send me an email at [email protected] SAVVY SALESKate Spade has a fabulous repliKate of the Tod's D-Styling bag and it's now 40% off at Nordstrom! I hope you all get some R&R this weekend in preparation for the busy week ahead of Kate watching! Oh what fun it will be!
