The Duchess of Cambridge had only one day of public engagements this week. On Tuesday, she and William joined the Queen and other senior royals at Buckingham Palace for a reception to honor British Olympic and Paralympic medalists from the Rio 2016 games. Click to read more >

Below are my favourite repliKates of the week:
IF I WERE KATE'S STYLIST
I'm sure many of you would agree that having the role of Kate's stylist would be the best job in the world! Seriously, how much fun would it be to help Kate shop and experiment with new looks!? In this occasional segment, I showcase my daydream outfits for the Duchess!
Last week the Duchess debuted the Kate Spade New York Encore rose dress. Whilst many liked the dress, I did see comments from readers that the dress was not season-appropriate. Others would have liked to have seen Kate ditch her nude accessories and opt for something a little more playful. That inspired me to play around with different looks for the dress. Below is how I would style it for Fall with a hint of whimsy!
For the accessories, I picked up on the deep reds and plums found within the rose print of the dress. These hues are also signature shades of Autumn and Winter. To match the femininity of this floaty frock, soft velvet accessories work best (FYI, velvet is all the rage this season!). For an element of playfulness, I would team the dress with classic Mary-Jane block heels and rose stud earrings.

Each week I like to devote a little time browsing the websites of Kate's favourite brands and designers. This week, many of the new season pieces from H&M caught my eye. I came across these Duchess-worthy styles by the Swedish fast-fashion brand:
WIN! WIN! WIN!
The lovely team at Flora Garments have kindly gifted me with one of their beautiful cashmere stoles, and I am offering one lucky Kate's Closet reader the chance to win this luxurious pashmina!
The Duchess of Cambridge is a fan of the company and was seen wearing a Flora Garments embroidered stole on two occasions during the Royal Tour of India and Bhutan!
Flora Garments is a London based company that produces hand-woven pashmina’s in Kashmir, India. They use Chyangra pelt which is hand combed each spring from the feathery neck and chest wool of the the Himalayan mountain goat. Chyangra pelt is the most insulating in the world and is known to the world as Pashmina, the most luxurious out of all the 100% cashmere shawls. I highly recommend you check out their beautiful selection of scarves!

I completely agree. Kate needed darker accessories for fall. Even with the dark accessories, I still feel that the dress was more for Spring/Summer. I guess even a princess can't always get it right...that's why she needs to hire you, Elizabeth, as her personal stylist! :)
