There have been some whispers that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge may attend Wimbledon which is set to start on 29th June. The Cambridge's are huge fans of Andy Murray and if they do attend the tournament this year, it would most likely be in support of the Scottish tennis champion.
The Duchess has an affinity for wearing white to The Championships, obviously a homage to the Wimbledon players' dress code. Here's a look back at a few of her outfits from past attendances at the All England Club:
If Kate does attend this year, I think there's a strong possibility we may see her repeat the Jaeger White and Navy crepe dress:
What's your prediction? What do you think Kate might wear to Wimbledon this year?
REPLIKATE ROUNDUP
Below are my favourite repliKates of the week ...
REPLIKATE REVIEW
This week, Melissa shares her experience with purchasing a repliKate of the Asprey Woodlands Charm necklace from Etsy:
I have been obsessed with the Asprey Woodland Charm necklace since first seeing a close-up of it. I pieced together my own repliKate of it, but was always on the hunt for a more realistic version. By accident in February, I discovered The LookingGlass Shoppe on Etsy had a nearly identical version. The silver tone version was in stock, but I opted to preorder the gold tone as it was most like the one I loved and I felt the contrast of gold/clear stones showed off the detail better.
The sales page stated there was a 4-6 week wait and estimated delivery as mid March. Communication from the seller was an issue from the start as the auto reply when I placed my order mentioned shipping delays due to a predicted storm in January though it was then the end of February. 6 weeks later, at the end of April, I still didn't have my necklace and the sales page still said mid March when I checked it for an update. Finally I contacted the seller. The seller's explanation was that, as a small business, she was not a priority for her metal casters and that she had no real idea when the the pieces would be made. I needed to be patient, which was not encouraging when she had my money and I had nothing. Shortly after, this explanation along with her no refund policy was listed on the sales page, but she never updated the wait time to say anything other than mid March. The sales page should have included a revised time table even if she was unwilling to directly contact customers, some of whom had been waiting weeks longer than me. 8 weeks after I placed my order, I reached out to Etsy. Within a day, I had a refund and the preorder page for the gold necklace was gone. I do not know if she closed the preorder and other customers eventually got theirs or if she decided not to continue selling something she could not deliver and we all received refunds. I was upset as I really wanted it. My mom saw the silver version was in stock and ordered it for me. It arrived in about a week. Interesting to note that the auto reply she got in May still warned about the January storm. The necklace is really nice and is, as far as I can tell, identical to the real one. The charms are supposedly white gold plated brass and have a high mirror finish. There is a decent weight to them so that they have a quality feel and do not in anyway seem cheap. The stones are very sparkly and appear (I am not an expert) to be prong set. The detail on the mushroom charm (my fave) is amazing! It has gills under the cap like a real mushroom. The acorn's cap has the same latticework pattern as the real one. The leaf has open backs on its stones for extra sparkle. It comes with a chain that adjusts from 18-20 inches. The charms fall evenly when worn as they are balanced in both size and weight. Although I am a white metal person normally, I do think gold would better show off the piece as everything blends a bit on my tone on tone one. While I would be hesitant to preorder from the store again, I would happily buy the gold version if it were ever to be in stock for immediate shipment. SAVVY SALES
The Somerset by Alice Temperley boat print collection has been reduced to clear at John Lewis. It included the shift dress worn by the Duchess when she visited Portsmouth:
There's been a further price reduction of the Jaeger tile shirt dress! This is the lowest price it has been all season. ALL sizes are still in stock:
