IF I WERE KATE'S STYLIST

I'm sure many of you would agree that having the role of Kate's stylist would be the best job in the world!  Seriously, how much fun would it be to help Kate shop and experiment with new looks!?  In this occasional segment, I showcase my daydream outfits for the Duchess!

I was so thrilled to see the Duchess of Cambridge step out in an Oscar de la Renta number this week!  I loved the bold "ultraviolet" hue of the separates, however I was underwhelmed with the styling of the ensemble (although it was on-point for the occasion). If Kate does decide to repeat the skirt suit, I would love to see her inject some playfulness into the outfit. Oscar de la Renta skirt suits are often accessorized with gloves on the runway, and I think Kate's Cornelia James Imogen bow gloves would work well with the cropped sleeve jacket.   Pretty floral courts and cluster earrings would complement the look.

Each week I like to devote a little time browsing the websites of Kate's favourite brands and designers. 

This week's designer debut of Oscar de la Renta had me itching to check out the latest ready-to-wear pieces from the fashion of house of the American designer.   Oscar de la Renta has been a staple of the White House closet since  Jacqueline Kennedy was the first to famously wear the designer.  With the recent premier of Carolina Herrera and now de la Renta, perhaps this signals a move toward more more refined high-end luxury labels in Kate's closet! I can see the Duchess in any one of these creations below:
