The Royal Family gathered at Westminster Abbey today for a Service of Thanksgiving for the life of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were accompanied by their two eldest children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

The Duchess debuted a black Alessandra Rich Pleated Polka-Dot Midi Dress (£1,665) featuring a high neckline, puffed mutton sleeves and a drop-waist pleated skirt.
Kate's new hat appears to be a custom version of Lock & Co's 'Mayer' Boater (£775). The Duchess opted for a contrasting satin band and feather trim.
Kate carried her Russell & Bromley 'Curvy' Clutch Bag in Taupe Suede, and black Cornellia James 'Alice' gloves.
On her feet were her Gianvito Rossi 105 pumps in black suede.
The Duchess topped off the outfit with Princess Diana's Collingwood pearl and diamond earrings.

I love this look…it’s a very modern way to wear black to a memorial. I am not British so I don’t know if it is too much for this occasion but I would imagine this is one of the events where the Queen approves attire. Love seeing the older kids out with them even though this was a solemn occasion.

This outfit is outstanding, from head to toe. The Duchess is the epitome of elegance and grace. The dress, I love. The pleated skirt is very becoming on the Duchess. The high neckline and black buttons on the shoulder elevate the overall look. The taupe color clutch was a clever addition. Love the black suede shoes, and gloves. The pearl drop earrings are a excellent choice, I love these earrings. The Mayer boater hat looked stunning.

Is Kate throwing shade at the Alessandra Rich haters? This might force them to acknowledge the potential elegance of polka dots, puff shoulders, and pleats. All these have been assembled here into a perfect memorial outfit, especially with the added touch of that divine dashing wide brim Lock & Co boater.

The Duchess looks stunning. Her look is beautiful and perfect for the event. The dress is lovely - the high collar, the fabric pattern, the pleats and fit.
