To commemorate the anniversary, The Duchess of Cambridge has taken portraits of two Holocaust survivors with their grandchildren.
The images depict the connection between a survivor and younger generations of their family, who will carry the legacy of their grandparents. The portraits will be part of a new exhibition which will open later this year, bringing together 75 powerful images of survivors and their family members to mark 75 years since the end of the Holocaust.
Kensington Palace also shared behind-the-scenes photos of the Duchess when she met Holocaust survivors Steven Frank and Yvonne Bernstein ahead of the photo shoot at Kensington Palace.
In the above photos, the Duchess is wearing a plaid midi skirt with a black turtleneck top. The skirt is the Gucci pleated checked wool-twill midi skirt. A big thanks to Georgie’s Mum for the ID. The only other identifiable pieces are her tweed J.Crew Avery Heels and Daniella Draper Personalised Gold Midnight Moon Necklace. While it may seem frivolousness to comment on Kate's clothing for today's sombre commemorations, this blog is solely dedicated to cataloging Kate's sartorial choices. The Duchess of Cambridge continued to promote her 'early years' landmark survey today following yesterday's announcement of the project.
Kate was at the Ely and Careau Children’s Centre in Cardiff as part of her 24-hour tour of the country to launch '5 Big Questions' on the under fives.
She joined a baby sensory class at the centre to hear about the support that parents receive.
The Duchess then made a visit to HMP Send, where she spoke to some of the women she met during a visit to the prison in 2015, who have since been successfully rehabilitated, released and are rebuilding their families, in addition to women currently at the prison.

Today The Duchess of Cambridge launched 5 Big Questions, a landmark survey which gives people across the UK an opportunity to provide their view on raising the next generation.
Kate is marking the launch with a 24 hour tour visiting London, Cardiff and Surrey. It began earlier today with a visit to MiniBrum at Thinktank Birmingham Science Museum.
The nationwide survey is part of the Duchess' ongoing Early Years Initiative, and the aim of the new project, in her own words: “I want to hear the key issues affecting our families and communities so I can focus my work on where it is needed most. My ambition is to provide a lasting change for generations to come.”
Kate wore a patterned blouse and trousers for today's outing. She debuted Tabitha Webb's 'Pansy Pussybow' blouse in green chevron (£295). Made in the UK, the silk top is now available for pre-order (with thanks to What Kate Wore for the ID).
It appears the Duchess wore her navy suede Emmy London 'Josie' pumps.
Kate complemented the blouse with her green onyx Monica VinaderSiren Wire Earrings.
There was a new piece of jewellery on her wrist. It's not very often we see Kate wear a bracelet so it was a nice surprise to see her accessorise with a Halcyon Days 'Maya' Torque Aquamarine and Gold Bangle (£110) - ID by UFO No More. Halcyon Days is a British company specializing in fine enamelware, and it holds three Royal Warrants as suppliers of Objets d’Art. The Maya Torque bangle is a stylish open-end design with a hint of art deco where the twisted metal meets the aquamarine enamel finish. Below is some footage from today's event:

The 'Aurora' gown from the brand's SS20 'Love Hearts' collection is a mix of lightweight tulle and heavy embellishment. Inspired by Victorian style - the sequins on this 'Aurora' gown are specially placed to resemble the intricate patterns of vintage lace. The slim silhouette is finished with ruffle trims along the neckline and shoulders.
The gown in also available in beige and blue at Net-a-Porter.
A shorter version of the 'Aurora' style is available at Net-A-Porter.
The Duchess teamed it with her red pony hair Jenny Packham 'Casa' clutch and red suede Gianvito Rossi pumps.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were in Bradford today where they visited a number of projects which support community cohesion in the diverse city of Yorkshire.
The royal couple received a warm welcome from the locals outside City Hall in Centenary Square.
The Duke and Duchess then popped into MyLahore’s flagship restaurant to learn about some of the charitable work that the restaurant does to support the community. William and Kate then visited one of Bradford’s Khidmat Centres, whose main focus is to help the most vulnerable members of the community from minority ethnic backgrounds. For their final stop in Bradford, The Duke and Duchess joined a workshop run by Near Neighbours. The organisation brings people together in communities across the UK that are religiously and ethnically diverse, so that they can get to know each other better, build relationships of trust, and collaborate together on initiatives that improve the local community that they live in.
Kensington Palace posted a lovely video of Kate and William's day out in Bradford.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge joined Her Majesty for Sunday service at the Church of St Mary Magdalene on the Queen's Sandringham Estate in Norfolk.
The royals were joined by Kate's parents, Michael and Carole Middleton. The Duchess rugged up in a new coat by Roksanda, the ‘Denton’ style (US$3,405) from the designer's 2016 collection.
The fuzzy wool-blend fabric is a mix of dark blue and orange hues, and the mid-length coat features a funnel neck with bar-shaped copper-toned hardware closures. It also has lightly padded shoulders, front slit pockets, and a back vent. Made in England, the coat is fully lined in silk.
Kate complemented the coat with a navy Hicks & Brown 'Suffolk' wool felt fedora (£95) featuring a pheasant feather wrap. It's hard to say for certain, but I believe Kate wore her chocolate brown Cornelia James 'Imogen' gloves. We also saw the return of the cola brown Stuart Weitzman 'Zipkin' Suede Boots which Kate has not worn (in public) since 2013!
The Duchess topped off the look with the Sapphire & Diamond Oval Drop 'Diana' Earrings.
