The Duchess of Cambridge visited The Scouts headquarters at Gilwell Park today to learn more about the organisation’s new pilot to bring Scouting to younger children.

The visit to Gilwell Park also celebrated the site’s 100th anniversary year. Kate planted a tree to mark the occasion.

Kate wore a mix of casual favorites for the outing in Essex.
She paired her Barbour Ladies Waxed Defence Jacket with her J.Crew Mahogany Mockneck Sweater and black skinny jeans.
On her feet, the Duchess wore her See By Chloé Combat Ankle Boots.
The only new addition was a pair of hoop earrings. They are currently unidentified. Susan from What Kate Wore has good close-up photos of the earrings here. She thinks they might be sterling silver with three tiny segments in a gold tone.

Kate sported the official UK Scouts Scarf (£8.50) in blue with a red, white and blue border and a Union Flag badge on the apex.

I just ordered the sweater from J. Crew and with tax and in-store pick-up, it was $45 U.S. This and some other colors are on sale and there are a variety of sizes, including plus, petite, and tall...I will let you all know how it fits and looks after I get it. So nice to have a tiny piece of HRH for such a low price!

I'm wearing the sweater right now. Really cozy and well made. Kate has great taste! I do recommend dry cleaning it. I have another one and I hand washed it and it didn't do very well.

I have this jacket and sweater. I think this sweater may have been tailored bc the fit is actually more boxy than it looks on her.

Kate really has a uniform for these type of events doesn't she. Whilst I would love to see her mix it up a bit more, I do admire that she's not a big spender when it comes to her clothing. The Duchess looks relaxed and comfortable, and really seems to enjoy these events with children. I love the pics from this outing, they warm my heart.

Martha, the style sold out long ago but Barbour do make similar styles which you can see here: http://www.katescloset.com.au/barbour-ladies-waxed-defence-jacket.html The jacket does occasionally appear on eBay so it's worth setting up an alert :)

The Duchess looks terrific in her casual gear, very appropriate for this event. What a terrific organisation Scouts. So fantastic for the children to be able to participate and learn it is so wonderful to see the Duchess get in a be one alongside with the little ones.

Hi Cate, thanks for your concern. I haven't been posting because Kate hasn't had any public engagements. She is spending time with her family while they are on school holidays. As soon as she returns to royal duties, I will post updates :) Your comment will be posted after it is approved.
