Catherine, Princess of Wales met with the 1st Battalion Irish Guards on Wednesday for the first time since becoming their Colonel.

While visiting the Salisbury Plain Training Area, she gained insight into the diverse operations undertaken by the Irish Guards, such as instructing park rangers on anti-poaching techniques in East Africa and providing de-mining training to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Kate succeeds in looking so beautiful in such unfriendly conditions, even as the snow comes down, her face is wonderfully framed by the dark earth tones of her beanie and Holland Cooper turtleneck. I find it hard to believe the same pants would work in tropical Belize and a wintry Salisbury Plain, I imagine thermal layers might be involved, but it's hard to tell on one as slim as Kate. The close fit pants certainly help make the outfit more feminine as Kate dons the regulation army camouflage jacket and are a good match. Glad to see she has sturdy Berghaus boots on for the day.

The Princess looked fabulous, in fatigues. What impressed me more was her participation. Highlighting the behind the scenes effort by the soldiers, training, rain hail or snow for that matter. Catherine did wonderfully.
