Complete itinerary for India and Bhutan royal tour

Kensington Palace has released further details of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's upcoming royal tour of India and Bhutan.  The week long tour will run from 10th to 16th April 2016.  Here's an overview of the activities the royal couple will undertake during the tour:

DAY 1: 10th April - Mumbai, India

• Fly overnight from the UK on Saturday 9 March, arriving in Mumbai the next morning. 
• Wreath laying at Taj Hotel, scene of Mumbai terror attacks in November 2008.
• Visit to Oval Maidan public park for children's cricket match and meeting with local children from the slums.
• Visit to ancient Banganga Water Tank in Malabar Hill, an upmarket residential area in Mumbai
• In the evening, there will be a reception and dinner with some of Mumbai’s leading figures, including Bollywood stars and entrepreneurs.

DAY 2: 11th April - Mumbai/New Delhi, India

• Meet with young entrepreneurs at a collaborative workspace called The Social in Mumbai.
• Take flight to New Delhi, India’s capital city.
• Lay wreath at India Gate, the country’s main war memorial.
• Visit Gandhi Smriti, a museum located in Old Birla House, where Mahatma Gandhi, India’s founding father, spent the last few years of his life.  
• In the evening there will be a birthday party for Her Majesty The Queen at the residence of the British High Commissioner. 

DAY 3: 12th April - New Delhi/Kaziranga National Park, India

• Engagement with charity supporting vulnerable young people in New Delhi.
• Meeting with senior government leader. Private meeting with NGOs working in New Delhi. 
• Travel to Kaziranga National Park in the state of Assam.
• Observe dance and musical performances celebrating Assamese New Year. 

DAY 4: 13th April - Kaziranga National Park, India

• Open-air drive around the Kaziranga National Park.
• Visit to the Centre for Wildlife Rehabilitation and Conservation.
• Visit to the Kaziranga Discovery Centre built by Elephant Family, the charity founded by Mark Shand, late brother of The Duchess of Cornwall.
• Completion of on an elephant sculpture to mark a ‘call for artists’ for India’s elephant parade.

DAY 5: 14th April - Bhutan

• Arrival in Bhutan's capital city, Thimphu. Receive ceremonial welcome by senior state representatives.
• Chipdrel traditional welcome procession in Thimphu Dzong. 
• Private audience with King and Queen of Bhutan and visit to temple for blessing. 
• Visit to Thimphu’s open-air archery venue to observe traditional games.
• Private dinner with The King and Queen at Lingkana Palace.

DAY 6: 15th April - Bhutan

• Hike to Paro Taktsang, the Tiger’s Nest monastery which dates to 1692.
• Reception for British nationals in Bhutan and Bhutanese people with strong links to the UK.

DAY 7: 16th April - Agra, India

• Depart Bhutan and arrive in Agra, India, the home of the Taj Mahal. 
• Visit to The Taj Mahal
