The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge touched down in Belize this afternoon for the commencement of their 8-day Royal Tour of the Caribbean.
During the week, they will visit three Commonwealth countries – Belize, Jamaica and The Bahamas – on behalf of Queen Elizabeth II and her Platinum Jubilee year marking 70 years on the British throne.

Following an official welcome at Philip S. W Goldson International Airport, the royal couple went straight to a meeting with Prime Minister Johnny Briceno and his wife, Rosanna Briceno at the Laing Building.
The Duchess choose a blue lace dress by Jenny Packham for Day 1 of the Caribbean royal tour. The colour choice is perhaps a nod to the royal blue of the Belizean flag.
Featuring a low Chelsea collar, peaked shoulders, and peplum waist, this scalloped edge lace dress with black lining has similarities with the nude lace Jenny Packham garment she wore in 2016 for the Battle of Somme commemorations in France.
Kate complemented the dress with her sapphire & diamond oval drop earrings, and the matching pendant necklace.
She coordinated the look with a new scalloped top clutch and matching pumps.
The pumps are believed to be the Emmy London 'Rebecca' style in Cobalt blue.

Both dignified and relaxed, the soft Jenny Packham guipure lace in Belizean blue gives Kate a suitably royal start to the tour. It's a lot like the nude-on-black dress worn to the Somme commemorations, while also being bright and individual in its own right.

It seems a while since we have seen Duchess Catherine wearing lace. The photo of her from the 2016 Somme commemoration shows how lovely she looks in lace and how appropriate it can be for a day occasion. When I first saw this dress I wondered if it was a bit fussy for the tour's opening in a hot climate. However, the royal couple are meeting the Governor General and Prime Minister of Belize, so the style is occasion appropriate. The cobalt blue colour is fabulous and the shoes and clutch are a perfect match. There's some thought gone into the styling of her hair - it is a relaxed style but has a degree of formality to it.

The Duchess looks beautiful, but this outfit is a miss for me. It looks similar to past themes, branch out, different design would be a nice alterative. Lace such as this I am not a fan of daytime, especially. The all blue ensemble including accessories is too much in my eyes. A contrasting colour would for a change would have been lovely. The Sapphire and diamond pendant and earrings are gorgeous. Regardless of my tastes, she looked wonderful.
