This evening the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended the Diplomatic Reception hosted by The Queen at Buckingham Palace.
The annual white-tie soirée is one of the most formal events on the royal calendar. Over 1,000 people from around 130 countries, including members of the British government and past Prime Ministers attend the gathering.
It is a private function and the public usually only gets a glimpse as guests arrive at the Palace, but this year the Palace released a handful of photos. It's a real treat and hopefully the start of a new tradition!
Kate looked every inch the princess in a new Jenny Packham gown. The ice hued dress is fashioned with a cowl neckline which extends to flutter sleeves and the draping continues around to the back. It is adorned with glittering beads
The Duchess donned her 'go-to' tiara - the Queen Mary Lover's Knot tiara. It was once the signature diadem of the late Princess of Wales.
The Duchess paired the tiara with Princess Diana's Collingwood diamond and pearl drop earrings, and pinned to her dress was a Royal Family Order of Queen Elizabeth II which she was awarded in 2017.
In addition to the tiara, Kate also loaned the Queen Mary Chain-Link bracelet which she has worn on a few previous occasions. The piece was originally a choker that belonged to Mary of Teck, Queen Consort of George V. It was later converted to a bracelet by the late Queen Mother.
Kate carried her Jenny Packham 'Casa' crystal clutch.

Fairytale princess! Princess Katherine in Jenny Packham always puts a smile on my face. I'm generally not one for anything sparkly but I like this dress on this woman at this time of year. I especially enjoy how the beading tapers off and the skirt dissolves into a cloud of white at the bottom.

Perfect dress for a princess which Kate certainly is! I love everything about this gown especially the subtle cowl neckline. The sparkle is festive and she looks so regal with all that bling! This look is 10/10
