This evening, the Duchess of Cambridge attended the Fostering Network’s annual awards ceremony in London. The Fostering Excellence Awards recognize the achievements of people within UK’s foster care network.
You may recall that Kate first visited the Fostering Network in January this year. The charity supports foster carers and they work with over 400 fostering services and nearly 60,000 foster carers in the UK to help the 64,000 children in foster care to achieve their potential.
Tonight, the Duchess of Cambridge presented the Fostering Achievement Award which celebrates extraordinary achievements in the last 12 months by young people aged 16 to 24 who have been fostered.
Before the commencement of the ceremony, Kate received a gift for Prince George and Princess Charlotte. They each received a quilt handmade by foster children in one of Fostering Network’s programs.
For the occasion, Kate premiered a new dress from London-based, Indian-born designer Saloni. It was recently announced that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge would undertake a royal tour of India in 2016. I suspect the Duchess is doing her research on designers connected to the sub-continent!
The 'Martine' dress is from Saloni's Pre-AW15 collection. It is made of a crinkle-effect fabric in cobalt blue and cut with cropped sleeves, a nipped-in waist and a full skirt. It is a silhouette the Duchess favors.
Kate paired the dress with her signature black suede accessories. She wore the Alexander McQueen double-buckle belt (shown in glossed leather) and carried the Mulberry 'Bayswater' clutch.
She wore the Catherine Zoraida Fern hoop earrings.
Kate has expanded her ever-growing collection of black suede pumps. Tonight she debuted the Gianvito Rossi 'Gianvito 105' pumps. You may recall that Kate also owns this style in Royale Burgundy.
We will see the Duchess again tomorrow at the Place2Be Headteacher Conference.
