The Duchess of Cambridge attended an event hosted by The Fostering Network to celebrate the work of foster carers in providing support to vulnerable young people. The Duchess doesn't have a formal link with The Fostering Network but today she was given an overview of the world of fostering. She met foster carers, social workers, and care leavers to discuss the role of fostering and the need for more foster carers. She also heard the stories of those who have experienced fostering first hand. Lucy Peake, director of development at The Fostering Network, said: “A visit from The Duchess helps to shine a spotlight on fostering and the need for more foster carers, particularly to look after teenagers, disabled children and groups of brothers and sisters. We are very grateful to her for her interest, and know that the foster carers and care leavers attending our event today are excited to be sharing their experiences and stories with her.” Kate wore her Hobbs chocolate brown animal shirt dress which is currently on sale for £50.00, down from £169. The classic shirt-dress has an animal-print embossed silk jacquard and it features a covered placket and coordinating belt. We first got a glimpse of the dress when Kate wore it under her Matthew Williamson coat in November last year and again on Christmas Day. It was nice to finally see the dress revealed and worn on its own. For the second consecutive day, Kate accessorized with her Mulberry 'Bayswater' black suede clutch. On her feet were the Stuart Weitzman 'Power' pumps. Kate wore a new pair of gold earrings today. They feature three dangling interlocked hoops. It's been suggested that they may be the Mirabelle 'Gina' gold plated loop earrings (£35.00) or the Mirabelle Lolita (£30.00). I'm waiting on confirmation from Mirabelle - UPDATE: Mirabelle has confirmed it is their earrings that Kate is wearing! She is wearing the Lolita style which has an identical design to the Gina but is 2cm shorter. The are currently available for pre-order at Mirabelle or you can buy them immediately from notonthehighstreet.com. On Monday, the Duchess will undertake a day of engagements in Kensington. She will have morning coffee at Family Friends Kensington to meet volunteers and get an overview of the organisation's work supporting vulnerable families. Kate will then visit Kensington Aldridge Academy to formally open the new school. Her day will conclude with a visit Kensington Leisure Centre to formally open the new leisure centre.
