The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited North Wales today for a full day of engagements, focusing on the mental wellbeing of young people. You may recall that the royal couple spent a number of years living in Anglesey, while William worked as a Search & Rescue Pilot in North Wales.
Upon arrival, the Duke and Duchess were given a warm welcome by the people of Caernarfon.
First on their agenda was a meeting with staff from GISDA, a charity who provide support for homeless young people in North Wales.
This was followed by a visit to a photography exhibit titled: “Mute: are you being heard?” which was part of the Ynys Môn and Gwynedd’s local Mind charity. The exhibition was designed to give young people a voice to talk about mental health.
Today, Kate brought back a classic outfit, opting to recycle her Reiss ‘Angel Fit and Flare’ coat. The coat was worn atop black skinny jeans and turtleneck top.
The piece is from the brand's A/W 2010 collection. Kate debuted the coat on Christmas Day 2011, and wore it again in October 2012 when she visited a football training centre at St. George’s Park.
She again coordinated the coat with her trusty Aquatalia 'Rhumba' black suede boots.
We also saw the return of another favourite, her Kiki McDonough Citrine Pear Drop Earrings.
After the Mind visit, William and Kate traveled to Snowdonia to visit the Towers Outdoor Residential Outdoor Education Centre, run by Mountain Rescue England and Wales (which William has been Patron of since 2007). The pair changed into casual clothing.
They sported Mountain Equipment jackets and Kate wore her Brasher Hillmaster GoreTex hiking boots.
Their visit included an abseiling exercise. This was Kate's first attempt at the sport.
The couple took another route back up to the top via the rock climbing wall.
The final stop for the day was in Denbigh where the royal couple visited the Men’s Shed Cymru. The group is designed for men aged 30-93 and offers them a space to build strong support networks, vital for reducing isolation and maintaining positive mental health. The men take part in activities including regenerating local open spaces, creating vegetable plots, renovating furniture and learning woodwork skills.
Kensington Palace has not announced any upcoming events for the Duchess of Cambridge. It is quite common for Kate to make a flurry of engagements then retreat to Anmer Hall for a few weeks. I'll keep you updated if any announcements are made regarding Kate's next outing.
