Following the 'Party at the Palace' event on Saturday, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were back at Buckingham Palace today for the Queen's first garden party of the season.
The garden parties are a staple on the royal calendar with Her Majesty hosting a few each year on the grounds of Buckingham Palace and are a way of recognizing and rewarding public service.
This was the second garden party William and Kate had attended together.
Kate has gone solo on past occasions, and today marked her fifth appearance. For her first attendance in 2012, Kate opted for a repeat and wore her pink Emilia Wickstead 'Alice' pleated dress. In 2013, she was pregnant with Prince George and debuted a yellow Emilia Wickstead coat. In 2014, she brought back the Alexander McQueen champagne lace dress and in 2015 she recycled the cream Alexander McQueen ensemble she wore for Prince George's christening.
Kate chose a Christopher Kane repeat today.
The bespoke ice blue silk coat was first worn for the Opening Ceremony of the London Olympics in 2012 and again for the Order of the Garter in 2014.
Once again, Kate coordinated the garment with the Lock & Co 'Sweet Delight' woven straw hat.
She complemented the look with her recently acquired KIKI Blue Topaz and Diamond Drop Earrings.
On her feet, Kate wore the Gianvito Rossi 'Gianvito 105' Praline Suede Pumps.
The most interesting piece of today's outfit was Kate’s clutch. It is a new addition to her closet and the bag features a multicolored beaded pattern on the front flap.
@LadyParky79 thinks it could be a vintage piece by Josef. The colors and intricate beaded pattern are a good match in my opinion. There are a number of vintage Josef beaded bags available on Etsy.
