The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended the Festival of Remembrance this evening.
The Festival commemorates all those who have lost their lives in conflicts and it is usually attended by the Royal Family. It is organized by the Royal British Legion and is held every year on the eve of Remembrance Sunday.
William and Kate joined the Queen, and other senior members of the Royal Family at London's Royal Albert Hall for the British Legion's traditional televised service.
As expected, the Duchess wore an all-black ensemble. She debuted a black Roland Mouret asymmetric neck dress (£1,605).
It is made of 100% wool with a stretch silk lining, and the fitted midi dress features elbow-length sleeves with a belled cuff, and an exposed back zipper. It has sold out but was carried by Farfetch and Stylebop.
Kate accessorized with new pieces by Jimmy Choo. She carried the 'Celeste' clutch in black velvet (US$1,550). She also owns this style in bordeaux suede, ballet pink suede, and navy suede.
On her feet were the Jimmy Choo 'Romy' 100 pumps (US$895) in a matching black velvet. Kate also owns this style in nude patent leather, and burgundy velvet.
It's been suggested that Kate's new earrings are the Quatar Diamond and Pearl earrings on loan from the Queen, however I don't think they are a match.
They closely resemble the J.Crew Pearl and crystal earrings ($68).
Another possibility is the LK Bennett 'Carolina' Earrings (£60). We will have to wait for better pics or a re-wear to confirm the ID!
Kate did however borrow Her Majesty's pearl and diamond brooch which she topped with three paper poppies - possibly one for each of her great-great uncles who were killed in the Great War.
It is the forth consecutive year Kate has attended the performance. Below we see her in 2015 wearing a black lace Dolce & Gabbana dress, in 2016 she wore a Temperley London 'Callas' evening coat, and last year she debuted a custom Catherine Walker coat.

Triple combo of asymmetrical neckline, 3/4 sleeves, and mid calf hem really shortens her line in all the wrong places. Not a flattering look.

This is a beautiful dress, very elegant and the neckline makes it unusual. The Duchess looks beautiful, Thank you for a great blog!

The Duchess of Cambridge nails it again. The neckline and 3/4 sleeve adds interest to what would otherwise be a very standard black dress. She looks incredibly elegant and polished. Perfect for the occasion.

I think the length is wrong for her but I like everything else about it. I appreciated the fact that she needs to wear black for a very somber occasion but puts a little pizazz into it. Also love that this isn’t bespoke..off the rack black dress that looks to have been tailored.
