Kate in floaty frock for 50th anniversary of the investiture of the Prince of Wales

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended a reception at Buckingham Palace with other members of the royal family to mark the fiftieth anniversary of the investiture of the Prince of Wales.

Kate wore a new floaty frock in a pale mint hue. The Palace informed royal reporters the dress is by a private dressmaker.

A What Kate Wore (WKW) reader noted the similarity to a dress by Russian fashion designer, Ulyana Sergeenko but according to WKW's eagle eye there are some differences: the length of the cuffs, the number of buttons on the front, and the fabric weight of Kate's dress appears to be lighter.

The Duchess teamed the dress with a new pair of Emmy London suede pumps - the 'Rebecca' Blush style ($550).

Kate carried her bespoke Alexander McQueen brocade clutch, first seen during the 2018 Trooping the Colour.

There are no clear pictures of Kate's earrings but it's believed she may have worn her aquamarine and diamond drops.

Kate looks very elegant! Perfectly classic and stylish for the occasion.
How exciting for the private dressmaker to see Kate wearing her special creation at such an important Royal family celebration.

There are a few stores, like Zara that copy a designer’s outfit, blouse, blazer and shoes. There is always something different in a very slight way. I don’t believe the dressmaker copy this Russian Designer dress, because this style dress has been around for many years. If you take a good look at Kate’s pale blue dress, you will see the sleeves and neck are modified.

The dress is pretty she looks sweet, shes really not so into fashion, comfy and familiar is her thing, especially when that image is saved forever. Plus the occasion was very demi formal like the dress.

I always wonder why this clutch is called Bespoke like it was one the designer and Kate created from scratch.? I think it's the Alexander Mcqueen Lace Heart Knuckle Box Clutch, specifically in blue, and as always (I can't blame her) she has the knuckle skull clasp removed. You gotta check out Kate on Feb.10, 2019 at the BAFTA awards.
Wearing an as light as air white gown by Alexander McQueen.

She was sublime in every way.

You'll find it under "Style File" button above in Kate's Closet.

By far, my favourite look of Kate's. Perhaps, even more so than her wedding gown.

The Duchess looks lovely. Love the colour of her dress, but it is a bit old looking for her. Love the accessories, the clutch is gorgeous.
