After joining the Queen at the Chelsea Flower Show yesterday, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were back by her side this afternoon for the second garden party of the year at Buckingham Palace.
The garden parties are a staple on the royal calendar with Her Majesty hosting a few each year in late Spring on the grounds of Buckingham Palace and the Palace of Holyroodhouse.
The Duchess stepped out in a new bespoke creation by Alexander McQueen.
The design is a modified version of the label's 'Samurai' Skirt Coat which Kate owns in ivory. The double-breasted front and flap pockets remain, but ruffles of the Samurai coat have been replaced with pleats on this new style.
Kate also donned a new custom pink headpiece by Juliette Botterill.
It is the milliner's Rose & Feather Knot Disc Percher Hat (£570) adorned with a rose and arrow feather with silk abaca bow detail to the back.
Kate accessorized with familiar pieces including her blush Loeffler Randall 'Tab' Lizard-Effect Leather Clutch and praline Gianvito Rossi 'Gianvito 105' Suede Pumps.
She finished the elegant ensemble with Princess Diana's Collingwood pearl and diamond earrings.

Kate’s pink coat dress & hat is beautiful and is one of her best designed coat dresses and William has matched his wife with tie and vest with his grandmother Queen Elizabeth, perfection. Queen Elizabeth’s outfit is from Royal Ascot 2018 that I thought was one of her best outfits with the beautiful hat with peonies flowers. It looks like Kate & William complimented the Queens outfit, very well done, remember they do get to know what the Queens is wearing in advance. This is the best coordinated colors and outfits with the Queen. It would be interesting if Kate & William’s stylist reads our observations and opinions and have step up their coordinating outfits (especially William). 💗💙 Bravo.

This coatdress is beautiful and a lovely colour that suits the Duchess so well. I love the colour of her accessories and paring the beautiful pearl drop earrings they are gorgeous. She looks lovely. But personally I feel it is a look for a older person. It would have been nice to see her in something more age appropriate and floaty maybe.

The Duchess's look is eye catching and can be seen easily among the crowds. It is a very polished outfit. The Juliet Botterill hat is of a similar design to the pale blue one Kate wore to last year's Trooping of the Colour parade.
