The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge had to change their royal tour plans after a severe thunder storm forced their plane to abandon its landing in Islamabad last night.
William and Kate were pictured leaving Lahore airport this morning for the Pakistani capital, where they will conclude their five-day royal tour. A traditional hand-spun design in classic monochrome, this kurta with its tapered silhouette features delicate floral and tribal embroideries in ebony silk thread on a pristine ivory base. The piece is currently in production and will be available later this year. The Duchess carried her Smythson Black Panama East West Zip Tote, and on her feet were the J.Crew 'Lucie' pumps.

Gorgeous and chic. I am living for all this embroidery. I love the black bag as well.

Nice tunic. Love the tote bag! I would not have chosen tan shoes with a black/white outfit tho.

Interesting that the shoes should strike you, have to confess the nude tone must have done its work here for me as they seemed near invisible. I suppose that means they work for me, any more black for instance might be on the heavy side against the delicate embroidery. Plus given she was on emergency stopover it may be she didn't have more shoes to choose from!

I agree with your full observation, with a white pencil slacks you need a sandal or pump either in white or black leather or even a pump or sandal that are black & white that would have complimented the pretty tunic. 🖤

Hi Karen, I can answer your curiosity about the tan shoes. My husband is from India, which is neighboring Pakistan so the issue is the same. The problem is that there is a lot of fine dust/dirt on the ground that is tan, sometimes light tan/red in colour and the shoes will get dirty very quickly. Choosing a tan shoe is perfect because if there is any of the fine dust/dirt on the shoe it will for the most part be unnoticeable. If she wore a white or lighter shade shoe it will become very dirty looking, and a darker shoe you most likely will still see some light colored dust on the shoe contrasting with the dark shoe, which will look really ugly. Someone was very informed to choose this shoe in this shade. A great comfy walkable shoe that is elegant. I actually bought this same shoe for our travels to India for this exact reason.

p.s. their plane had 2 aborted landings .... yikes! So, glad they were safe after all that especially with the tour being high security alert...must have been scary for them both. Glad they're ok and will be with their kids soon if not already. :)

I'm just so impressed that on being stranded in Lahore Kate still had a couple of spare outfits to change into from her overnight bag! 😅 This is a charming take on the classic black-and-white style embroidery, and looks so comfortable. The Smythson tote remains full-on droolworthy and the lower JCrew courts are proving their worth. Only her hair looks a teensy bit tired after the diversion. Well done Kate!

This would have to be my favorite look of the tour. It's something I would wear on vacation and I hope to get me hands on this tunic when the designer releases it!

Beautiful embroidered kurta to finish off the tour! I like the shoes. The color and lower heel height works with this outfit.
