The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge hosted a reception on behalf of Her Majesty The Queen at Buckingham Palace on Monday evening to mark the UK-Africa Investment Summit.

The royal couple were joined by the Earl and Countess of Wessex, and The Princess Royal.

The 'Aurora' gown from the brand's SS20 'Love Hearts' collection is a mix of lightweight tulle and heavy embellishment. Inspired by Victorian style - the sequins on this 'Aurora' gown are specially placed to resemble the intricate patterns of vintage lace. The slim silhouette is finished with ruffle trims along the neckline and shoulders.

The Duchess teamed it with her red pony hair Jenny Packham 'Casa' clutch and red suede Gianvito Rossi pumps.

I love this look...especially the sheer sleeves and earrings. I am on the fence about the Farrah swoop of her hair...but I do like this dress. Her clothes are always tailored impeccably!

Kate looks very polished in this pretty red dress for this official reception. The dress looks to be good value for money. I particularly like these new earrings. Is this also a new brand for Kate? You do very well to identify these items, Elizabeth. I can only imagine how difficult the earrings are to see clearly when Kate has her long hair worn out.

This is a gorgeous dress at an affordable price point. I love the balance of the light tulle with the heavy embellishment. Kate wearings it well and the accessories work harmoniously with the dress.

The Duchess looks lovely in this dress, the colour suits her perfectly. Very feminine, pretty, a wonderful elegant look. The accessories, clutch and shoes are a great choice. The highlight for me are the ruby earrings, superb, (love rubies).

Duchess Kate looked lovely and William wore a dark red tie to match her outfit, how appropriate! This being a cocktail reception, Kate’s dress is perfect with a tea length, fabric and level of ornamentation so it would not be mistaken for a day dress but without a revealing neckline such as a formal evening gown. Her outfit does not make any of the guests feel over or under dress. Kate as hostess looked dazzling in this rich red color of this beautiful dress! ❤️
