The Duchess of Cambridge visited Cumbria today for a day of engagements in the Lake District.
Kate began the day by joining a group of Royal Air Force (RAF) Air Cadets, in her role as Patron, at their Windermere Adventure Training Centre for outdoor activities including abseiling and cycling.
The visit marked the re-opening of the Centre following a £2m refit, aimed to improve the well-being of young people via outdoor activities.
Later, The Duchess met with surviving 'Windermere children', a group of 300 child Holocaust survivors who came to stay in the Lake District for a period of recuperation following what they experienced in concentration camps and ghettos of Nazi Occupied Europe.
During a boat trip on Lake Windermere, Kate spoke with two survivors, Ike and Arek, who shared their powerful stories of trauma and healing.
