The Duchess of Cambridge stepped out this evening to attend the opening of the new Photography Centre at the Victoria and Albert (V&A) Museum in London. Kate was named the first Royal Patron of the V&A back in March, and this engagement marks her first time at the museum since taking on the patronage.

The Duchess looks fantastic. It is a unusual dress but I love it on her. Accessories are perfect. Hair and makeup just right. Great blog, thank you

You are genius with these IDs! Nowhere else can I see that she has indeed got purple shoes & black bag. Had thought my eyes were deceiving me. I was inclined to dislike the dress at first but had to pull myself up short & point out that if Meghan was wearing this I'd be praising it to the skies! This is Kate in experimental territory & she rocks it. Those are the most astonishing earrings I've ever seen on her ❤❤

Looks like I blew it -- the clutch is purple too!! And even has an exotic print pattern in later photos :)

Yes, Kate looks terrific in that Erdem dress. Beautiful combination of shoes, belt and clutch in burgundy. Wonderful!

Hi Holly, it appears the belt is also by Erdem. I have updated the blog post with the info x

Wow! Perfect! The rich bordeaux/burgundy accents elevate the dress. Also, I'm a sucker for tweed.

This style lok sstunning on Kate. The dress is longer, by several buttons than that on the Erdem website. The hem is finished in a frayed look whereas the Website photo shows a formal hem. These bespoke changes really deliver a standout look for the Duchess of Cambridge
