The Duchess of Cambridge attended a reception hosted by the Queen at Buckingham Palace this evening to mark 70 years of the NATO alliance.
Kate was joined by other members of the royal family including, the Princess Royal, Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall to meet NATO leaders. The Duchess debuted a jade green Alexander McQueen shirtdress. In this screengrab from a Daily Mail video shared by @21_royall on Twitter, we get a better glimpse at the length of dress.
The custom creation features a piquet band collar, puffed shoulders, inset waistband, and a pleated skirt. The piece appears to take inspiration from this McQueen ready-to-wear shirtdress.
Kate added a touch of glam with the diamond orbital teardrop earrings on loan from Her Majesty.
Unfortunately there are limited photos from this event and we have been unable to get a complete look at Kate's outfit.

Kate looks gorgeous but did she really need ANOTHER green dress!? Her style lacks imagination. If she's going to spend money on something new why not be a bit more creative?

I agree with you Milly. Kate's style is very repetitive. With her resources she can do so much more in the fashion department!

I like what I can see of the dress. Hopefully we'll get a full view eventually. Love the color on Kate. Earrings beautiful!

This dress looks almost like the green dress she wore 2 occasions ago or is it just my imagination?

The Duchess looks lovely, but it seems like other dresses of similar theme and colour. Its obviously she likes to stick to what she feels suits/works best for her. Its always the same type of look. It would be fantastic to see her in something that would be a complete game changer. Love the choice of earrings, beautiful.

The Duchess of Cambridge is once again her usual polished self. I would like to ask however what evidence we have that the dress is by McQueen? So many sites have reported it to be Emilia Wickstead. I am wondering what makes you say one over the other. Is there some official statement or a mere guess based on a resemblance?

Alexander McQueen confirmed it via a media statement. I think some bloggers initially suggested it could be by Wickstead and some ran with it without confirmation.
