On Monday, The Duchess of Cambridge joined her husband in Scotland for a four-day tour. The Duke arrived in Edinburgh on Friday for a number of solo engagements, and Kate will stay on for the remainder of his week-long visit.
The Duchess sported a Zara double-breasted blazer and pleated midi skirt by Hope Fashion in the colour of the Saltire (Scottish flag) for her first day of engagements.

JACKET: Zara Cobalt Tailored Double-Breasted Blazer (repeat).
SKIRT: NEW! Hope The Contrast Hem Pleated Skirt in Cobalt (£95). HANDBAG: Métier 'Roma' Tan Small Suede Shoulder Bag (repeat). NECKLACE: Spells of Love Double Strand Beaded Satellite Chain Necklace (repeat). MASK: Amaia Reusable Cotton Face Mask in Blue Pheobe (repeat). The Duke and Duchess kicked off their joint tour with a visit to the Turning Point Scotland centre in North Lanarkshire. The couple heard how the organisation works to break down cycles of crime and addiction.
Kate and William then visited the Scottish Violence Reduction Unit (SVRU) - a national center to target violence wherever it occurs whether it’s on the streets, in our schools or in our homes. Supported by the Scottish Government and Police Scotland, the SVRU uses a public health approach to treat and end violence.
Before turning in for the day, the Duke and Duchess welcomed volunteers from Sikh Sanjog to the Palace of Holyroodhouse - the official residence of the British monarch in Scotland, and their base during the tour.
They cooked up a storm in the Palace's café kitchen to prepare meals to be distributed to vulnerable families across the Edinburgh community.

It’s a no for me, the length of the skirt , the shoes…I love Kate but lately her fashion choices have not been sophisticated or I dare say elegant. Good to see she is returning to her tours and visits

The jacket is lovely, I love the color, but not a fan of the skirt at all. The subtle pieces of jewellery is perfect.

Thank you Elizabeth for the 'Saltire blue' description in the heading. I hadn't appreciated that the colour choice reflects the Scottish flag. This is a cost effective outfit; it works well with the varied activities of the Duchess during the day and it appears to be light weight for the warmer weather. This blue is a striking colour that quickly picks out the Duchess among a crowd. The Hope brand has an interesting story behind it and aims to provide affordable fashion that gives confidence to the wearer. With Kate's enviable figure, it's good to see her wear a skirt with an elasticised waist. The bag and the earrings are lovely accessories. The colour also works well with the orange apron when they are in the kitchen. I wonder why the Duke is not wearing an apron.
