Kate sports new pink pieces for visit to School 21

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited School 21 in London today following its re-opening after the easing of coronavirus lockdown restrictions across the UK.

The visit also coincided with the roll-out of Mentally Healthy Schools resources for secondary schools putting mental health at the heart of the school's curriculum.

Kate looks stunning and blooming in strong pinks, it's basically a wonderful outfit with contrast dark pants. It's certainly living proof of how much better a belted coat looks without its messy tie at the front. So it's one up to Max&Co there.

And I do have other minor doubts. For one thing I just don't like wide trousers with an overcoat, the silhouette becomes too heavy, and I most especially dislike hems so long they appear to trail on the floor, which is a touch slovenly in my book and spoils the overall finish.

Another worry I had was what seemed to me a fussy touch with the scallop neck, though I appreciate this was a good way to break up the colour blocking. However on closer inspection I see Boden has created a sort of stylised scallop at neck and hem which makes the style more current and less girly.

And I love those Emmy London pumps, the block heel is a useful counter to the weight of trousers with overcoat and I like the texture contrast from the quilted Jaeger bag. The earrings look great, a canny find there at that price, proving you can look like a princess while still shopping on the High Street. Thanks for such a thorough post.

Love the pink on Catherine what a great cause and so good to see the Royal out and about again. I am looking forward to seeing what Catherine will do this year with her early years project.

Wow! Great choice of outfit in so many ways. Firstly, Duchess Kate looks very pretty in this tone of pink. She's very visible to the children in a group setting, which is an important consideration for the Queen when appearing in public. It's a cheerful colour for the occasion - it's Spring and first day back at school after many months locked up at home. It's a practical outfit for an outside setting.

Duchess Catherine is one of those rare women, who could wear an outfit in a drab and dismal colour and still look great.

I'm loving the bubblegum pink coat! It was a fitting choice for a school visit because it ensures the students could easily spot her. The entire ensemble works and I love Kate's ability to effortlessly mix designer and high-street.

This is a fabulous outfit. The coat is divine. I would have liked slim fitting trousers, but this is only my personal preference only. Regardless the Duchess looks great in this pants. I loved the scalloped edging around the neckline and the wrists, it added interest and stopped colour blocking occurring. She literally looks divine in anything she wears no matter what the style.
