The British Royal Family rolled out the red carpet tonight for the visiting King and Queen of Spain. Queen Elizabeth hosted a state banquet at Buckingham Palace in honour of the Spanish monarchs, and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge partook in the evening along with many other members of the Royal family.
This was Kate's second state banquet at Buckingham Palace and she looked majestic in a dusty pink lace gown by Marchesa teamed with some serious crown jewels!
Photos from tonight's banquet are very limited and screen grabs are the best we can manage. Below we see the gown in its entirety. It has a plunging neckline, deep v-back, cropped bell sleeves and a full skirt.
What Kate Wore points out that the gown looks like a mishmash of features from multiple Marchesa styles. On the left, the Frilled Lace Peplum Blouse from the Fall 2017 pre-fall collection. In the center, the Guipure Lace Peplum Gown and on the right, a gown from Marchesa Bridal.
Kate returned to her new 'go-to' tiara - the Queen Mary Lover's Knot tiara, and once the signature diadem of the late Princess of Wales. You can read about the history of the tiara here.
It is a piece Kate has worn twice before to the annual diplomatic reception at Buckingham Palace in 2015 and 2016.
Tonight the Duchess paired the tiara with diamond and pearl drop earrings which also belonged to Princess Diana.
This was a combination the late Princess wore often. They were a wedding gift from Collingwood Jewellers and are part of Diana's private collection. It's believed William gifted them to Kate.
The glittering effect extended to Kate's neckline. She wore the Queen’s Ruby and Diamond Floral Bandeau Necklace. The statement piece was a wedding gift to the then Princess Elizabeth from her parents, King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. It was part of the Greville bequest, the collection of jewelry left to Queen Elizabeth by the Hon. Mrs. Ronald Greville when she died. Mrs. Greville purchased the necklace from Boucheron in 1907.
As many of you know, I also run the blog Queen Letizia Style so this evening was a real treat for me, bringing together the two royal ladies I passionately follow! Her Majesty, Queen Letizia looked resplendent in a red off-the-shoulder gown by Felipe Varela. You'll find her complete outfit details on the Queen Letizia Style blog.

I'm still frustrated by lack of Kate pics, so unusual for her to be overlooked like this. Can't see us getting a second chance to see both dress and epic neckpiece together again. But thanks for another great post under trying circumstances!

I love this outfit on her yet I will admit that when I first the photo I didn't care for the flowers and leaves on her hair!
