Princess Kate premiers a Balmain blazer at Wimbledon

Catherine, Princess of Wales, made her first appearance at the Wimbledon Tennis Championships this year on day two of the tournament.

That was my initial thought too, but the pleats are different between the two skirts.

What a great outfit for Wimbledon, referencing green grass courts and white players' kit. And such a classy pick by Kate, going back to past-season from the great French couture house of Balmain.

The styling is brilliant, I love the way the double row of buttons is saved from clutter by the cunning reliance on just a single button for fastening, at a stroke eliminating the bulk that so often spoils this style of jacket. I love how the smooth shawl collar is kept sleek without reveres, and the skilful way the lower jacket opening is cut on the slant for an extra equally smooth feature.

I think it's very clever how Kate has paired the jacket with the long slinky skirt , which by being both white and pleated, references the on-court tennis kit again. Even the white pumps, more clunky in the Rossi style than the Jimmy Choos, more or less disappear under the skirt and so are nicely kept in check. I adore that Mulberry Amberley bag, I think the purse-friendly Shyla earrings work well enough as something bold was needed against a bare neck, though I'm puzzled by the addition of the Sezanne cuff, it seems unnecessary.

The outfit is really great.
I just live the blazer and I thik that beneath the blazer it might be a dress, not a skirt.

This is a beautiful blazer, gorgeous mint green in color. Love the style of the blazer and the length. The white midi skirt looks pretty. The earrings were a nice touch.
