The Princess of Wales joined Prince William on the red carpet this evening for the British Academy Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) awards ceremony at Royal Albert Hall in London.
In keeping with the BAFTA's 'sustainable' dress code, Kate opted to re-wear her white one-shoulder gown by Alexander McQueen which she premiered for the 2019 BAFTA's (shown below).
However, the Princess had the Grecian-inspired gown updated for this evening's award show, exchanging the original floral shoulder appliqué for a flowy drape.
Below is a closer look at the new shoulder detail.
Here's another look at the dress from the side.
Kate contrasted the solid white gown with long black gloves.
She complemented the gloves with her Jimmy Choo 'Celeste' Clutch in Black Velvet.
On her feet were her Aquazzura 'Fenix' 105mm Pumps in Gold.
The Princess topped off her red-carpet look with statement earrings by fast-fashion giant, Zara. They are the brand's golden cascading floral earrings (US$27.90).

This is superb from Kate, to create such a dramatic look from a classic pair of opera gloves shows real style savvy. She has displayed complete mastery of the upgrade by simply switching accessories to create one of her most iconic and memorable looks.

The gown itself is lovely and great to see a rewear, but I don't like the cascading fabric. I love the fact the Princess tried something different, but these black gloves are too long, overall I don't like this look. The gold pumps are a no and the earrings I really dislike. Her hair and makeup looked perfect.

I'm surprised at the level of resistance to this outfit, given its constituent elements are so straightforward. I could see Letizia wear something similar and no one bat an eyelid!

I loved how she wore it originally, but this was too much. It's rare that the Princess of Wales puts a foot wrong, but this is a no for me. I think it MAY have worked if she kept the dress looking the way it did originally, maybe white gloves that met the elbow instead of bicep, hair pulled back, and smaller earrings. Otherwise it's just all too much. You've got a white dress, one shoulder with some sort of sash hanging from one shoulder, then black opera gloves, ginormous earrings, and her hair is down. That's too much going on. But still, she looks way better here than Megsy Bogus on her best day.

I love the idea of Kate repurposing this Alexander McQueen grecian gown. The drape adds a lovely cascading effect, but the long black gloves look odd, and the gold pumps and earrings don't work with this gown. Despite all that, the Princess looks gorgeous!

The more I see this outfit, the more I love it. I love that the gloves matched William's suit and those earrings with that dress make her look like a Grecian goddess. The gloves were off-putting for me at first but I think if they were an inch shorter so that they weren't directly at her armpit they would have been perfect.

Yes, you're right! It's the length of the gloves that puts me off, not the actual gloves! An inch or two shorter and this ensemble would have been sublime

I realize a lot of people love this outfit, but it is a miss for me. I feel the earrings and shoes would’ve worked well without the gloves and the drape and flowers should’ve been removed from the dress completely so that it was more simple. I would love the gloves with another gown, such as something sleeker like the gown worn to th, I would love the gloves with another gown, such as something slicker like the top gun gam the Top Gun premiere although the gloves would need to be a bit shorter or eased down slightly. Having said that bravo for mixing things up and trying something new.having said that bravo for mixing things up and trying something new it always leads to new options.
