Princess Kate sports Sezane separates for visit to Nottingham Trent University

Catherine, Princess of Wales visited Nottingham Trent University today to learn about their mental health support system and speak to students and staff.

How delightful it is to see the Princess wearing a skirt once more! This ensemble is truly a winner, and she exudes luxury, yet the separates come at an affordable price point.

There are barely enough words in the English language to describe how profoundly relieved I am to see Kate back in a skirt. Even if I can't help wondering why she would finally wear such a thing to meet students who are generally all clad in trousers and jeans of one sort or another.

As we ploughed our way through more than a dozen outfits with blazer and trousers or skinnies I couldn't help noticing how appropriate the pant suits were to many of the settings. The black Holland Cooper blazer fitted right in with the visit to the Royal Naval Air Station art Yoevilton and the blue McQueen pant suit was spot on for a trip to a men's prison. And when it came to rugby training in Hull then sports pants were a given.

I was fearful of a permanent switch in Kate's wardrobe to pants, from which fear I have been delivered by this sleek take on a knitted suit from Sezane. The Princess could not have picked a better moment to discover a neutral tone that suits her, as she has quite a knack of picking taupe colours that drain colour from her face. In this soft cream she glows, and the string of buttons at the wrists stand out as excellent embellishment. She has paired it all with one of my favourite handbags of hers, the Tusting Mini Holly, and reworn her trusty Gianvito Rossi pumps in almost matching Bisque suede. And her loose hair is for once tucked behind her ears so we are not plagued with bangs on this outing at least. The Simone Rocha faux-pearl drops are the perfect ladylike finishing touch.

This is a beautiful, affordable, two piece ensemble, love the color and design of both garments. The buttons on the sleeves are a clever choice, adding interest. Love the length of the skirt. The shoes and clutch blend in well.
The pearl earrings are beautiful, love them.
